Christmas was a terrible day for cravings for me. I always have cravings 24/7, but Christmas day was worse than anything I've had in a long time. I finally took a couple of sleeping pills. As I held that bottle, I realized that with the whole bottle, I'd never have another craving. I'm so tired of cravings. It takes so much energy to fight through. By the time the day is done, I'm so exhausted with fighting cravings that I sometimes can't even take the dog for a walk, much less even think about going to the gym or doing anything for myself.
It will soon be a year and I've mostly internalized the truth that the cravings will never be gone. It will be a daily battle that I will have to fight for the rest of my life.
Yet, you know, I'm here to tell you that it can be done. You can want a cigarette and not have one. You've done it for quite a while now. Just take it day by day. No matter how you feel, just don't smoke. I got through Christmas day. If I did it, you can too.
