Greger, That is music to my ears...the fun time you had without a single urge, as well as your determination and certainty. btw, most of us have whined now and then :8|: -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 157 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,280 Amount Saved: $1,067.60 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 22 Mins: 1 Seconds: 14

Thanks folks! I took myself on a little day trip yesterday, MUDBOGGIN! It's a sport often done with a mouthful of Skoal and country music blaring. Not a single urge nor craving all day long! Afterwards we found a great independent restaurant with the best Fried Green Tomatoes I've ever eaten, a couple glasses of wine with dinner and an Irish coffee to finish had me a bit tipsy and I turned the keys over to the GF. Again not one single urge to smoke! My worst time yet seemed to have a lot to do with being around smokers, four of them puffing away on Friday was just more than I could handle. Pol, shame on that husband of yours for putting his cigarettes "within easy reach" I know he was trying to be kind but he should have more respect for you and your quit. Aloha, I will gladly make that pledge. I will also state with some certainty that I will not need it. I am a non smoker now and dammit I am NOT going to cave in no matter how crappy I might feel or how badly I want one. I might come around here whining every now and then though. Greger, I too am having similar problems; my urges to smoke seem to get greater with the passing of time. Last night was really difficult, but I got through it, but the urges were still there this morning. My husband (bless him), left his smokes within easy reach of me and no one would have noticed if I had taken one; that is no one other than me!!!! I got myself dressed and out of the house pretty darn quick and took myself for a walk. The urge has subsided for the time being, but its not easy. Got to remember that we have already made the hardest move and stopped and we have lots of smoke free days under our belt already. We now just need to take it moment by moment along the rough and rocky path. You are doing good. Keep busy and above all else, be kind to yourself. Congrats Gregor on getting through a rough patch. While I tend to post about the good things, trust me I have had a few of those when I was pushed to the edge. When my new IPOD was smarter than me and I couldn't add a song, it almost hit the door. I had to literally sit, close my eyes and make myself BREATHE. My poor dog thought I was having a breakdown. But I, like you, made it through. As Lolo said, one day at a time! You are doing GREAT!!!!! Greger Remember that saying..Into each life, a little rain must fall? Well, yesterday it did, but today, as Bear said, is another day. Some people experience increased craves/urges/thoughts around milestone days. I think it has to do with being used to rewarding yourself for a job well done with a cigarette. I've found that rewarding myself with something different has almost completely eliminated those milestone cravings for me. Hmm..which reminds me...I need to start planning a 6 month reward. Oh, would you mind making a pledge that before you smoke you'll come here and post a message with Help and wait for at least 5 responses? Greger, We have to take it one day at a time. I know this first hand! When the thoughts seem to overwhelm me sometimes I need to just stay away also! BTW~ wtg on getting through hell week! Your stats look awesome! What have you been doing to help ignore or let the thoughts of wanting a smoke pass? I sometimes go for a walk. Other times I play a game online. Other times I can just take some deep breathes. ?Lolo My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 140 Amount Saved: $31.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 14 Mins: 45 Seconds: 45
