Dizzy, dizzy, dizzy.....

Hi Everyone: I get dizziness too. It's my worst symptom! I'm still having difficulty swallowing, but dizziness seems worse. I hate it. You can't really describe it. Doctors can't really "measure" it. I've had it since January 2005 almost straight, everyday, most of the day. It's like I'm mentally dizzy, sometimes it's vertigo, sometimes my whole body feels weak. Unless I've suddenly developed MS since October, I think I've ruled everything else out. It is a scary symptom & I can relate to you. The more people I hear with it though, the better I feel. Hopefully this will help you too. Wishing you all the best.

Hey Kitten! I wanted to let you know that heart palpitations are very common and are not dangerous! If you were having a heart attack it would be very painful and ongoing, like your chest is caving in. Yes, palpitations are part of a heart attack but unless you have that crushing feeling in your chest or constant nonstop palpitations for more than 20 minutes, you are ok. I'm assuming you have the all so common flip flops that we anxiety sufferers experience that last anywhere from a couple flip flops to an episode of a couple minutes. Your doctors are telling you that you are ok and they have done the tests - trust them. Doctors are very tuned into finding heart disease. Heart symptoms are very common for anxiety sufferers. Anxiety lies to you - doctors do not. Trust your doctors. Heart disease is not a certain death anymore. It's amazing what doctors can do to heal any kind of heart issue. IF the worst were to happen and you had a heart problem (which you do not because your doctors have run the tests and have found you cardio healthy) you have a -very- high chance of healing. Twenty years ago, or even ten years ago, that wouldn't have been the case. Today, we are very fortunate because so much is known about heart disease and huge strides have been made in the medical world to treat it. I promise you will be ok! I know it's scary and I know it's hard to believe, but your doctor has said you are ok. The tests have come out negative. Remind yourself every time your heart jumps that if there was something wrong, they would have found it. Even at a very early stage of heart disease, something would have been found. I've spent the last 12 years very tuned in to my heart and terrified of every little thing that felt off. So I know I exactly how you feel and where your fears are coming from. Hang in there! You will be ok!

Hi Kitten212, You are not going anywhere...I think the chest pains and heart palpitations go along with the panic attacks...I had the same problems whenver I had an attack and I was convinced that I was having a heart attack....I learned to breathe and try and settle down, find a comfortable space...and take deep breaths...I find that this helps me.... Try to relax your mind...go for a walk, take a nice bath...I hope this helps... Take care, B

Dear Vickers, I hope your dizziness has gone away. I get dizzy too alot, your position you were laying in probably caused that I know my hands and legs fall asleep too if I do that, a few times I turned over in bed and the room was spinning, I think it was the severe stress I was going through in the late winter and early spring, I have heard it could be in the inner ears too, if I bend over and get up to fast the I get dizzy or if I do not eat, I think my ear is involved, I have a constant whoosing in it and it gets blocked up and sometimes I can even hear my heartbeat in it!?! I hope you are better now, I know that can be scary, when I get dizzy I lay flat on my back and then eat a little candy or a few sips of orange juice, that seems to help the blood surgar. Are you better now? Please let me know, I am concerned, I hope it is gone! This darn anxiety and panic can cause so many physical symptoms its frustrating! I am sending prayers, GOd bless, Debbie.

I have had some dizziness lately, but this could be due to being pregnant. It is freaky though! Sometimes I try to lay on my stomach, to try to stretch out my back, and read and when I turn around, I get really dizzy. Maybe its the way you were laying???

I always get dizzy spells but today I had a serious whopper!! I walked up stairs and laid on my bed on my stomach and had my head propped up by my hand and I suddenly became totally numb from head to toe and felt completely unreal. My lips started to tingle a little bit and I seriously thought I was going to pass out! I sat up and took some deep breaths and it went away, but I am so scared this will happen again and I will pass out. It's really making me freak. Does anyone get this?!
