Hey try again, How are you feeling? I just know that you are going to have a positive break through any time now and feel better. Our mental dependency is the biggest issue. Start telling yourself that you HATE smoking, the hold it has on you. Keep on hanging tough. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,536 Amount Saved: $320.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 21 Mins: 0 Seconds: 3

i agree with Lady there have been many times when i have wanted to go back so that maybe i would not be such a B***h to those around me. then i think i am the same no matter if i smoke or not. i just notice it more. lol i suffer from panic and anxiety attacks and i am not on meds for them. maybe i should be but i am trying to work on them on my own. smoking before made me think i was dealing with them fine but truth is it was making it worse so when i quit things started showing their ugly head. anyway i am going off topic. keep up the work it is an everyday project that will and does get better. even though i feel uptight at times i know it is not the smoking that will make it better. does this make any sense? i am sorry if not but it does to me. just keep going at it your doing great.:confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 107 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,605 Amount Saved: $856.00 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 3 Mins: 42 Seconds: 16

Tryagain I posted this is pokerbrats thread, but wanted to make sure you saw it: Tryagain you are about six months into your quit. It's a big milestone and the way you're feeling is just about right. There have been so many changes for you now that you don't smoke, and it can be overwhelming at times. I fell into a major funk at six months as well as my husband and many others that were posting on the board at that time. I used the gum as well for awhile until I realized I wasn't chewing enough of it to soothe my cravings. I kept myself in a state of constant craving. When someone pointed that out I went cold turkey, suffered for about three days, then began feeling much better. Getting off nicotine is difficult, but worth it. Keep hangin' tuff! try again, Have you read Allan Carr' book? If not, I strongly recommend that you do. I think that I suggested this before. You are still romanticizing smoking, longing for it. The changes that you need to make are mental. Please read that book. You can check it out from the library, I'm sure. Consider everything that the author is saying. Let me know if it helps. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 63 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,512 Amount Saved: $315.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 17 Mins: 39 Seconds: 42

Tryagain, I hope the sun is shining on you today! Regardless of the emotional turmoil in your life, you are quit! That can remain a positive constant in your life. Gather strength from your 178 days of freedom. Hang in there and here's another rope if you need it! Hi tryagain, don't listen to the junkie in your head, ignore it. Tomorrow or very soon you'll be happy u did. Just like in the past when u made it through a tough spot and then were happy u made it. I'm sure when you see that u can make it through one storm that when the next one comes, u know u can make it through again because u did it before. Then the sun comes out and you're good to go again. Nothing good comes easy :) Those poisons taste like shi% & u know it. And they kill millions of people. U don't want to die so don't smoke. It is worth it to quit & in your heart of heart u know it. Just kick that junkie thinking to the curb. DON'T THINK OF WHAT YOU'RE GIVING UP, THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE GETTING :) Close your eyes, take some long deep breaths & start relaxing from your toes up to your head & then you'll be ok :) Don't fall off the cliff, I'm throwing u a rope, grab it & hang on & I'll pull u up to save u from the fall. U did the right thing, u were ready to fall of the cliff but you came in here and yelled for help, good 4u!!!!!!! And look how many people threw u a rope. It's gr8 to be cared about by people who have been where you're at & truly understand what you're going through :) Just breathe....... You have 178 days quit. Don't give that up. Sit down and take a personal inventory of what it took to get to where you are now. Then list what would happen if you started smoking again and what would happen if you kept your quit. Many, many times I wanted to go back to smoking. Too many to count. I tried to convenience myself that if I smoked, it would fix all my problems and then I wouldn't be depressed, lonely, or hurt any longer. When I would make the list and do my personal inventory of what was going on in my life, I couldn't prove to myself that smoking would help. So I held on. I'm here to tell you, it is worth every bit of struggle. I am finally free. It took me a long, long time to get to where I am. I've cried a river of tears, yelled at people I loved, lost friendships, disconnected myself from people I thought were really important. Over time, I found I am living another life now. The life of a non-smoker and it is a wonderful place to be. I am realizing many dreams. Hang on. I understand and know your frustration all too well. Look at my meter. I don't even think of smoking now. And I thought of it all the time for a very, very long time. You have come too far to turn back now. I don't know why you would want a cigarette, you don't smoke anymore. Besides, it stinks! it is so worth it Try Again. Sometimes smoking masks other stuff, ailments, issues, etc...that surface when you quit. I just read that some where here today. Perhaps that is some of what you are feeling. Perhaps you can try hypnosis or laser - but don't start smoking again, that is just not a smart healthy option for you. Try and find a few positive things about your quit everyday and focus on them instead of the negatives. Tryagain Think this and continue to think this "it is not that bad". Say it again and again, write it on paper and while you write, write down your reasons that you quit. Don't ever forget them. Do not blow this quit.
