Now This Is A Crave

Thanks Mr. Ed. I know that a crave or being hungry are the same feelings. I haven't had a crave for a candy bars in months. When I was younger :p I use to eat 2 or 3 a day. Those times are past me for now. Fortunaly I have not gained any weight with this quit. On one of my previous quits I ate everything in site and gained and lost the quit. This time I am minding the store, sorta to speak. Lots of sensible eating and exercise. For the newbies, don't loose a quit over a few pounds. It is so not worth it. Hi Sparky, One of the revelations I found in my quit was the fact that I associated a crave - ANY crave - with the desire to smoke, and then realised that I was craving FOOD. Simply because I was HUNGRY. However, I never substituted food for cigs - this is the way one can pile on the pounds. If you put on a bit of weight when quitting, it won't kill you and you can always work at losing it later! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 499 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 14,970 Amount Saved: 3,742.50 Life Gained: Days: 80 Hrs: 5 Mins: 20 Seconds: 14

It was a hot fudge sundae for me. I know the nicotine part of the quit is over with .. who knew that the craving for the smoke part would be so strong! I can't seem to shake that one. It got so bad the other day that I ran to a neighbors house and grabbed her cigg out of her hand. I just held it in my hand .. I was that close, that close to blowing my quit. I'm proud to say I didn't take a puff. So I got in the car and went to sonics for a hot fudge sundae .. I did it up right too .. extra fudge, nuts, whipped cream and cherries. I'm also proud to say that coming up on 3 weeks smoke free, I can still fit in my jeans, they are a bit more snug than they used to be, but I can still wear them! And that yellow stain on my fingers I use to hold ciggs is gone too. Now this is what I call a crave. I have not had many strong craves during this and final quit. But today boy or boy I just could not shake it. Now understand I am not making fun of craves, but this was new to me. I was craving a Snicker bar soooooooooo bad. It was like a crave for a cig instead it was a candy bar :eg: I kept telling myself this will pass and I just couldn't shake it so I got in the car and went and got my fix. LOL Now that is what I call a crave.
