Sit in a chair, relax your muscles, and imagine a tidal wave of water washing over you and washing the stress away with it. It can move over slowly, and while it does, relax each part of your body as it goes over. This one can be helpful. Imallclear - You always are here cheering everyone else on with positive comments, and I want to thank you for all the support you give to others. I'm sorry your day was stressful - hang in there, which I know you will, and know that you are important to everyone here, and we're cheering you on, while you are being washed away in your wave! I've tried meditation, and my mind is just too busy. If you figure out how to shut down the thoughts, let me know! I'd love to be able to practice it, but just haven't been very successful. I did have a massage today, that was quite nice and relaxing, and now I'm sitting here wrapped in a blanket like a little queen bee. It's so cold here. I'm so glad I no longer have to go into the cold garage for a cig. having a pretty rotten moment (two days actually). suffering with cold or allergies or something that's got me feeling foggy-headed. Presently can't get onto a computer system due to password difficulties, geting conflicting advise from help desks that bounce me around. need password to do project for boss ASAP. juggling calendar of scheduled meetings due to boss' request. confusing my days scheduled a meeting with one participant for today - it's supposed to be tomorrow. anticipating a meeting very soon involving a co-worker whom i view as a meathead. would help if i could pull together the where-with-all to get on top of the issue to re-frame it first before he presents who knows what. Ol' nic whispers "Just relax and have a cigarette, you'll cool off, be able to back off and re-group - it'll be nice" Don't even want it, really. Not considering it. Rather I found it very helpful to recline a moment in my desk chair. I think I could actually feel the imaginary waterfall rushing over me as I floated along a lazy river. I would have to be either very very stressed, sick and foggy-headed and/or plop,plop,fizzed,fizzed for this to work. I'm hoping the stress is the key factor b/c it worked so well that I would like to continue it. I remember I once had a job that was so stressful due to the interpersonal conflicts there (not anything real) that I started practicing meditation. It takes a lot of work to meditate properly. I'm not sure that I'm up for that work or have time to committ to it as a mom, but I am considering it. Any other comments of imagery, meditation, yoga, relaxation tech.s? Hi Imallclear Golly how ya doing? Don't be thinking about that s word. Get busy at home and take mind off of it. Get some sleep as Josie recommends. Tomorrow is day 41, one day shy of your record. We all will be routing for you. Take it slow and if need be get that frying pan out and have hubby give you a whack where the receptors are located. I would like to hear from a bright and happy Imallclear tommorrow or post or get on the IM tonight. Whatever stay smokeless!

imallclear, yes meditation can be challenging, but it really doesn't take much to just do what you did...relax, take some cleansing breaths, breath in positive, breath out negative, and find your perfect image and focus on that. Even doing that for a few minutes can have enormous benefits and you can pretty much do it anytime, anywhere. imallclear, Are you getting enough sleep? Are you relaxing before bed? This can be anything from stretches, exercise, good book, hot shower, favorite T.V. show. For tonight make a plant to relax yourself to the max and go to bed early. You will wake up refreshed and be able to start the day in a positive way.
