This is a Sassenach here!
(You will know what I mean)
If an Englishman can do it after 50 years surely a hardened Jock can cope.
I notice a huge pile of cigarette ends this side of Hadrians Wall.
Are they yours?
Phil

Oh thanks so much for all the support. Phil, you cheered me up with your cheeky comment. I truly believe it's all mind over matter. I see now that while NRT has its place, it is only prolonging the inevitable - cold turkey. I am confident I can break out of this again but I see me using the site an awful lot in the future. I remember how good I felt without cigarettes, how nice I smelled and how proud my friends and family were of me. Let's face it, what's the point of me slapping on the make up and nice clothes if I stink of smoke???
I look forward to being supported and thanks again. It's really heartwarming to know you are all out there. :)
I can't believe it but I started again. All be it a few fags here and there but still started. I had to come off the NRT patches as I had an allergic reaction and then I just seemed to go completeley off the rails for a week. Now trying to get back on track as from today but feel almost like it's impossible. I have a cold and a sore throat since I stared again and my mood is very low. I am angry at myself. I was doing so well................

Please, please don't beat yourself up!! I would say in this case talk to your doctor, see if there is something else to help you. I asked my doctor for wellbutrin, and it worked like a charm. It is not for everybody though.
Just don't quit quitting. You can do this, it just may take a few tries. What was your trigger? Go over your coping mechanisms, learn from it and move on.
