Just got home from a long walk. Went to the Zoo, went all around. I'm loving the warmth!!! Laughing, I love the cartoon from your kid! And congrats! You're almost at one-month! I found out I've got a big challenge coming up. In two weeks, I'm gonna see my parents for a weekend. They both smoke a lot. And are a huge trigger for me. I had gone a little over a week without a cigarette when I went home to Oklahoma to see them for Christmas and didn't last one day there. Granted, I wasn't taking Chantix then, and I didn't have any kind of support system like I do now. But I know this is still going to be a big weekend in my quit. I won't have internet access to check in with you guys, either; I'm meeting them in St. Louis (I live in Chicago). I know I can and WILL get through it Smoke-Free and when I do I will feel so good...so empowered! But I wanted to share/vent. And get as much support about it as possible before I go. I'm doing everything I know of to prepare. Donning my armor, if you will. Like: my mom mentioned me sharing a room with them at the hotel to save money. I said "no way!" I need a safe place to go to. I need to sleep in a room without billows of smoke all around me. Loose and available cigarettes sitting out?! Can you imagine?! It would be hell! I'd be freaking out!! I told her all of that and I think she gets it. I'll have my own room. She actually said that she's going to talk to my step-dad about trying to quit that weekend. We'll see about that, but a cool thought! Anyway, hope you all are doing well. I'm off in a few to do a show. laughing here... 29 days...under my belt...and only one...bigish craving this week...which was job related...and...i text messaged a friend, told her i wanted a cigarette...she said no...i couldn't have one..hmpf...and that was that..lol been listening to my hypnosis cd's everytime i take a break...and...i don't know if it's working or not..but it certainly gives me another option of something to do! Banana...yes..you have to add people to your list..which is one of the reasons..i'm not impressed with that messenger..what if you miss someone who would really like to talk? and you don't know it? at least with a chat room...if someone logs on..everyone knows it!!! glad to see everyone is doing well!!! hang in there!! Hello everyone, another late check in for me. It was my son's birthday today. The big 13! We went to eat and took him shopping. Got home and let the kids stay up a little late so my son good take a look at his new stuff. Had a talk with my other son... still having some rough times with him. But, think I have something worked out... haven't mentioned to their dad yet.. once I do I will come back here and give ya'll the whole story and outcome. As far as me. Still trying to find the best solution to my family issues. So, that has me a bit stressed. On top of that it has been a long week at work. I am off work this weekend though so after tomorrow I can rest. I am still smoke free and proud of it. Tomorrow, the 18th, is my 1 month smoke free. Now that is something! Made a month, even with as much stress as I have had. I haven't had a chance to catch up on everyone's post. It is already late for me and 4:30 comes early, so I will catch up tomorrow.
