Don't worry about sounding harsh once in awhile Outlaw! We all understand your frustrations and your need to vent them. That's what we're here for - so vent away! ;p Besides, it's important to be able to vent and get it all out (no matter how ridiculous you may think you sounded later). I think that's why these online support groups are so helpful. It's easier to get everything out when you can't see someone's expressions and you don't get interrupted and told to "just get over it already" like so many of us have experienced from family and friends. All of us understand your fears and frustrations and no one here will tell you that you're wrong or that your fears or invalid or stupid. You'll never be misunderstood here! :) (((CNTEXAS))) Thanks for the info about your heart rate changing after eating. I have noticed over the last few months that my heart beats faster after eating and have been worried about it. My mom notices the same thing so I've been trying to tell myself that it's just normal, but being a fearful person, those doubts are always there. So, I'm glad you mentioned that it is normal - that helps put my mind at ease about that. Logically, I know that the heart rate changes constantly throughout the day naturally. Irrationally, this scares the **** out of me when I pay too much attention to it's changes. -OIY- :confuse:

OUTLAW, AFTER READING YOUR POSTS IT SEEMS LIKE WE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONSTANTLY WORYY ABOUT MY HEALTH AND ESPECIALLY MY HEART. I USE TO WORK IN A HOSPITAL AS A PHYSCIANS ASST. AND HAVE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME. THE CRAZY THING IS THAT I DIDN'T DEVELOP THIS DISORDER UNTIL I LEFT THE PRACTICE. AFTER READING ALL THE TESTS YOU HAVE HAD DONE YOU SOUND TO BE IN GOOD HEALTH. HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BLOOD WORK CHECKED TBC, C PROTEIN LEVELS. 140/85 IS STILL NOT BAD WHEN YOUR NERVOUS. MINE GETS AS HIGH AS 160/100. DO YOU GET THE RAPID HEART RATE AFTER YOU EAT IT COULD BE ACID REFLUX. THE HEART WILL POUND AND BEAT FASTER AS WELL AS YOUR BP RISE AFTER EATING ANYWAY. THE BRAIN RELEASE ADRENALINE EACH TIME SOMETHING HAPPENS-- ARGUMENT AT WORK, TRAFFIC JAM, WORRYING ABOUT YOUR HEALTH, MONEY , ETC. TILL FINALLY THAT ADRENALINE IS RELEASED AND MAKES US HAVE RACING OR POUNDING HEART, SWEATS, FLUSHING, TINGLING SENSATIONS, ETC. TRY PRACITICING BREATHING TECHNIQUES THROUG OUT THE DAY, ESPECIALLYY IN TENSE SITUATIONS. REMEMBER THAT YOU HAVE LIVED THROUGH ALL OF THEM SO FAR AND YOU WILL CONTINUE. GOODLUCK.

Hey Outlaw! I found something on the net the other day about cardio stuff and I wanted to pass it on to you. I don't know if it will help, but I thought I would tell you anyway. I also have massive fears of heart disease like you. Anyway, I read that there are only a couple of times that you need to worry about your heart. Please keep in mind that it stressed that the only time you need to worry about these symptoms is if it is NOT brought on by physical effort or emotional reasons - remember that panic and anxiety fall in that area. Anyway, it said that if your heart pounds really hard in your chest continuously for more than 20 minutes or if your heart rate is more than 120 for more than 20 minutes, then you should contact a doctor. ONLY IF this is not brought on by physical or emotional reasons. I don't know if that really helps or not, but it made me feel better when I read it. I still have to remind myself of that when I feel my heart race, but it helps calm me down a little. Trust your doctors. It's amazing what they can do these days. My mother was on a heart transplant list two years ago and they gave her a medication that completely repaired her heart. My father had a quadruple bypass that same year and he is doing better than he has in years. If something goes wrong (God forbid) and you have to have some kind of cardiology type thing tooken care of, there is a lot that can be done to save you. I know that's hard to believe because I have the same fears, but these are things I remind myself of when I'm panicking and it does help me, so I wanted to pass it on to you. I don't know if that helped - but there it is. Hang in there! :)

My first panic attack, I thought, was a heart attack. It is so scary. And gosh, all the emphasis doctors and media put on a healthy heart and all, its not wonder people worry about their hearts. And yes, you can get a heart attack at a young age. Not to scare you, but I really don't think you fears are irrational. My uncle died at the age of 38, from a heart attack while he was JOGGING for crying out loud. Very healthy guy. It can happen to anyone. I do not have fear of a heart problem but I am having some issues here myself. I am pregnant and convinced I will miscarry. Everyone tells me that I won't but who ever would have thought it would happen the first time. I am 21, healthy. It happened. I am scared it will again. And like you with your heart thing during your first panic attack, you remember how awful and scary it was. That is how I feel about my miscarriage. The whole experience was the worst thing ever. Of course we are scared to relive those experiences. Its hard to get through and suck it up or forget about it, as everyone says. People just don't realize that we can't. WE LIVE TO WORRY!!!! Feel better outlaw. I hope I didn't sound mean or down or depressing to you. Its funny how I have no clue of how you all look or sound, but you are always in my prayers......
