What's Your Goal ?

Ok so once again I am starting my week off kind of a day too late but hmm no matter lol. Yesterday was a lazy day and I did, well, nothing lol. I think I needed rest hehe. Anyway but this week I decided to stay on session 8 again. I have just started this week to incorporate the relaxation technique in my life and just started to get back on track with my exposure work so I don't want to get onto a new concept just yet. So another session 8 it is for me this week lol. As for my four goals, this week went well. 1- For the hubby goal, I did my exposure work 6/7 days. I find we are really learning to have fun again. It's nice :) Since that went well this week I am stepping it up a notch by adding three sit-down suppers of 30 minutes to the one hour a day card playing. We haven't had a sit-down supper in ages because of my anxiety so I figured why not give it a try :) 2. For the getting to sleep in my bed again that is going well too. I did my exposure work for that, 6/7 days this week. I am starting to feel more relaxed when I lie in bed which is good. True I still use distraction techniques but I am getting there. Now I actually lie in bed for 30 minutes with only music and it is going well :) This week I am going to leave that one as is. I do not feel ready to move up yet. 3. As for my fear of exercise exposure work that is going well and having unexpected and fun side effects. I did my exposure work 6/7 days for this one. I decided since it is going do well, I will move up one step and instead of doing 30 minutes brisk plus ten minutes slow walking I will move it up to 40 minutes of brisk walking. Now the great side effects of this are I notice that on days where I walk I spend a much quieter evening. Also, I have been losing weight which is just really hard for me. I eat well, I just don't tend to lose weight easily but the pounds are slowly coming off which is great. The pants I wore in December I can now take off without untying them lol. Plus, I just feel healthier and that makes me less worried about my health. The more time goes by the less I am dreading my doctor's appointment in late May lol. 4- As for the intimacy thing, it has been a bit harder to get it done. The plan was to cuddle on the futon with my hubby. We always tend to try an

Ok so my goals for this week are the same as the week before. I haven't been able to do much therapy homework wise for many weeks now. I had finals, parties and well now illness to deal with. But as I find I am starting to get better I want to start doing my therapy homework again and get back on track. So once again I will stick with week 8 (lol I am entering week 12 actually but hey :p ). Wish me luck and some time on my hands to try and get back on track :) So four goals this week: 1-Spend time with hubby 2-Desensitize fear of exercise 3-Get used to being in my own bed again. 4-Get used to being in intimate close quarter situations with my husband.

Thanks, tomorrow is my last exam and i cannot wait to be done. Then two huge parties on the weekend (Urgh!) and then i get a bit of rest lol. I can't wait for next monday. In the meantime my goal is just to find enough calm and serenity to come through all this with some calm and grace lol. I'll keep you posted on how that goes lol! -Diva

Diva, You're absolutely right! Be nice to yourself. It's okay if you didn't have time to practice your goals. It's all at your own pace. Good luck on your finals! Danielle ______________________ The PC Support Team

Ok well this week i didn't get much of anything done except studying or doing exams so as such i am just repeating last weeks goals lol. I will act as if no week has passed and just keep on going with my therapy work on saturday once all the final madness of my session is over... I hate that i didn't manage to do the school and the therapy thing but i am trying to be nice to myself and tell myself that hey, i have been doing well in a very stressful week, that there are only so many hours in the day and that my finals will soon be over and that i will get back to my exposure work then on saturday. So, that is it for my week. Good news is I seem to be fairing ok during my finals week which I am pretty proud of. -Diva

Beserk777777, That's a great goal. How are you planning to reach it? Distractions? Relaxation techniques? Challenging your thoughts? You're second goal is also great! I saw in another post that hangovers increase your anxiety so here are a few tips that I hope will help you from feeling the effect and help you meet your drinking goal: * Decide how much you will drink ahead of time and keep yourself to this limit. * Take a limited amount of money with you if you go out to have a drink. * Keep track of the amount you drink. * Alternate alcoholic with non-alcoholic beverages when you drink. * Choose alcoholic beverages with lower alcohol content. * Space out your drinks: generally recommended 1 per hour. * Keep hydrated at the bar and when you get home. * Learn how to say no thanks. As the evening wears on or if you've reached your goal, switch to non-alcoholic drinks. If anyone asks site an early engagement the next day as the reason. * Eat something either before, after or during. Hope this helps. Have fun! Danielle ______________________ The PC Support Team

My goal is to get through tommorow at least a little less anxious than I was today. My goal after that is to stop by my friend's party friday night and not drink. My goal for the weekend is to go out and have fun.
