Panic attack triggers

for 18 år siden 0 8760 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Jane, Yes, light sensitivity is fairly common and has been shown for some to trigger panic attacks. It is not yet fully understood, but most research suggests it is linked with biological functionning. Like any trigger, it's time to start challenging those anxious thoughts. Keep working with your therapist and through the program. Take small steps, you'll conquer this trigger! Keep persevering. Danielle ___________________________ The PC Support Team

For a reason I really can't figure out, coming from somewhere dark into somewhere bright always seems to trigger off a panic attack for me. Typically awful is going to a movie theatre - coming out of the movie afterward is a surefire way to set me off. Why do bright lights and fluorescent lights act as triggers of panic? Is this common/normal? Does anybody else experience this? I'm currently doing CBT with a therapist, and it is in fact helping but I'm at the point where I am to 'experiment' with going places that will trigger an attack - and I'm just wondering why on earth lights would do it to me.
