Exercise Daily (simply walking for 15-20 minutes in the great outdoors does it for me). Breathing (I thought it was silly at first, but taking the time to really focus on it is a great stress reliever....and believe it or not, it can be done while you are walking). I consider these 2 things a great form of preventive maintenace. If I'm suffering from a lot of anxiety and think an attack is going to occur (I always had my attacks while stuck in traffic) then I pick up a magazine and focus on that or do math problmes in my head. Anything to get my mind off of the anxiety. Seems to work great at keeping the attack at bay. Mind of matter.

Hi fixing! thats a good question because i have difficulty getting in the 'zone' too. I"m not a professional meditator lol. I'm pretty much on the same level as you are! But my yoga video has some sort of meditation in it. So thats how i learned. Basically, you are supposed to find a quiet place in your home. Sit on the floor cross legged. I think your middle finger is supposed to touch your thumb. Then you close your eyes and just focus on your BREATHING (this is something we probably hate doing lol...buts its actually helpful). AS you breath in, your tummy should go out like a balloon. As you breath out the tummy should go back in. So just focus on that. (Also, if you find it hard to sit, you can lay down...thats what i do...i find its easier to focus on my breathing that way with my tummy going up and down). Then you can imagine this bright sun or star right above your head. This sun/star is your friend. It is a powerful source of energy that is emitting energy into your head. Imagine that bright energy coming into your head as you inhale....imagine it filling you with power, vitality, strength, purity (your NATURAL STATE). As you exhale, you can exhale out the negative energy if you feel that you have any (this is optional). You should not be forcing your breathing.....your breathing should be relaxed and effortless rather than forceful. Do this for as long as you can focus. Of course, this will take practice. But if you do this every day for like 10 minutes, you can get better and better! I have to admit that i have been so bad lately with exercise and meditation...i had no time for it. Here are things that i have tried that helps: 1) Yoga (i need to do this more often, its great) 2) Exercise (even just 15 minutes of cardio a day helps. It doesn't take a lot!) 3) Visualizations (I learned this from a Canadian energy healer who teaches you how to heal yourself through ur own energy. Go to www.dreamhealer.com) 4)Hot bath with relaxing music 5) Meditation (i used to do this. But i have to get back with it soon) 6) Massages (veryyy relaxinggg!)

Hi Vickivdb! The only ones I've tried are: Vitamin B complex with vitamin C - for me because there are good and bad days it's hard to tell what the effect has been. Exercise is awesome! I only started going to the gym about a year and a half ago, and whether you're doing cardio or lifting weights or in an aerobics class you get a natural good feeling instantly. Long term exercise reduces stress and increases your ability to cope with it. On top of that your bod begins to look better and your fitness level increases which makes you feel better about your self. I've also tried some aroma therapy which is actually pretty good for an immediate though short term calm. Recommended essential oils for anxiety/panic/stress include of Petitgrain, Melissa, Bergamot, Neroli, Cedarwood, May Chang, and Lavendar. I find even just opening the bottle and taking a sniff is relaxing. Meditation I've tried but it's hard for me to learn, I'm not that experienced with it but would like to practise more. I'd also like to learn more about self-hypnosis. You're right though - every little bit does help! FIXING

I'm reading through all these posts and thought I'd ask people to post just a short list of things they have tried that helped them... Vitamins? Herbal Supplements? Massage? Chiroprator? Exercise? Yoga? Meditation? List some of the things you have tried that gave you good results... Thanks!
