Hi Becky, I am glad you had a pretty good day and got out. I understand about that spacy dizzy feeling I get that when I go out during the day sometimes. I do have that book "From Panic to Power" it is great she really understands because she went through it, I just started the tapes and listened to the relaxtion one once, I will let you know as soon as I can I hope they can help, if not "cure" me just lessen the symptoms or teach me how to control them, I admit I am going to be a challenge to the program I feel like I am the queen of negative scary thoughts, it may take awhile to work but I am praying it does, I got myself out of this hole once before and was pretty normal and functioned well, I have to believe I will do it again. I think you will like that book, I saw her one night on television very late at night and I finally realized what I had and I was not losing my mind so many others felt like me. I hope you are having a good night, I got a little shaky before but fought it off, how is the doxapin going?? Talk to you soon. GOd bless, Deb.

Hi Debbie, I'm did okay today, thanks for asking. I still have trouble driving, I just feel so trapped, I feel like I'm so spacey and that I may get dizzy. If I could get over this spacey feeling it would be a big help. I picked up a book I had this evening that Lucinda Basset wrote, it is a wonderful feeling, she talks a lot in the book, at least what I've read so far that we can stop this ourselves, that is if it is just anxiety and panic, because we cause a lot of it by our thoughts, and I know in my case that is so true. I start out with the "What if" and by the time I get through, which normally takes only a few minutes, I am dying of something or going to freak out. It just amazes me how our thoughts control us and what we do. Have you started the tapes? Reading her book, I felt like I was reading about me. If you haven't tried her book, it is excellent, she had the same fears and thoughts that we have. It's called "From Panic To Power." Let me know how you are doing when you get a chance. Becky

Hi Becky, How are you doing today, my monthly started and that always gets me panicky I am alone and trying to stay strong. Youre freind sounds so much like me, even the bronicits that I had coupled with the kidney infection just before it set me way back, I only wish I could start feeling better more quickly like your friend, it seems like its taking so long, if I could just go a couple of days without panic it would be like a "turning a corner" right now I am fighting it off, I guess pms explains why I have felt so bad the last couple days, now its heavy bleeding and nausea to contend with, Vickers always tells me I will get through it like I have done before so I am trying to remember that, Please post me back and let me know how you are. God bless, Debbie.

Hi Debbie, I hope you are having a good day, work is still stressful for me, but I'm trying not to let it get to me. My friend is continuing to improve each day, she did have severe depression from this, I think the anxiety and panic took so much out of her, all she did was cry, she didn't care about anything, the anxiety just took over her. She has the health worries, just like you and I. She is almost 38 years old and has had this for years, although the last few years she has actually handled it very well. I guess just all the cumulative stress got to her. When she got sick about a month ago with bronchitus that was the beginning of the intense panic for her. A doctor told her that when someone with anxiety gets bronchial problems, it mimics panic because of not being able to breathe correctly and other symptoms that we get with panic and then you feel so bad and that can sometimes set off your panic after being sick, I guess in a way it's a trigger. The mood stablizer along with the paxil and of course her xanax has made a huge difference for her, she had gotten down to 96 lbs., she now has her appetite back again and feels so much better and has a much better outlook on life, I almost envy her is someways. I have never seen panic hit someone that hard and seeing how fast and great she is recovering has given me much hope, there is treatment for this and you can have a normal life, just by getting the right doctor and the correct medication. I hope you are feeling good today, my day hasn't been too bad \ so far, my husband and step son went to North Carolina for a family reunion yesterday and I decided to stay home and get a break:), which actually makes me a little anxious being alone, but I feel like I need this, time to just be alone without worrying about anything, I even took Monday off from work since they aren't coming back until Monday evening. I'm going to try to catch up on some housework, right now my house is a disaster, now a real enjoyable way to spend a few days alone, but it helps to keep busy. I just wanted to check in with you, I'll be on and off today, I have to get my computer time in. Hope to hear from you. God Bless, Becky

Hi Becky, I am still doing the CBT program on the site I thought Lucinda could help me I am trying so hard to get better for my family. I hope your friend continues to make such good progress, the right meds and DOctor is so important, did she have depression and health anxiety too? I know the first time it happened 4 years ago it was pure panic now its panic with the constant anxiety, depression and the worst of all the health anxiety, I feel like I am fighting a triple whammy, I am hoping Becky if I can get one under control maybe they will all lessen, I have been praying to God for the courage again. How are you doing?? How is work? I hope you have a nice restful weekend and relax, I meant to ask you how old your friend was if you do not mind me asking cause I am a little older I just wondered if she was, I wish I was young again! I hope to hear from you soon Becky, take care and God bless you, Debbie.

Hi Debbie, I pray that the tapes and new doctor works great for you. I have helped myself quite a bit over the last few years by reading books and listening to tapes. I've always wanted to try Lucinda Bassett's program, you'll have to let me know how it works. I completely understand about the expense of all this. Over the last couple years I have had 2 CT scans, wore a heart montior, had blood work, exays. I think I've been to the ER 4 times. I have insurance, but even with that the deductible and co-pay gets very expensive. I know you will be fine, after seeing what my friend went through and doing a complete turn around has given me a lot of hope. I know finding the right doctor and the right medication can change your life. I thought that she was going to have to be hospitalized this last month. It was that bad, she couldn't even talk on the phone. She has been on paxil about a week and a half, she is on 10 mgs. The doctor told her to stay at that dose for now, because paxil will increase your anxiety. I think what made such a huge difference for her was the increase in her xanax for now until the paxil kicks in. Before she was taking between .5 to 1 mgs at night to sleep, now she is on 5 mgs a day. Her doctor told her she could start coming down on her dose of xanax in a few weeks, but she needs it while the paxil kicks in. I am still shocked, seeing her a week ago and now, it's like] night and day. I like you have tried several doctors, and I feel that my primary care physician does the best she can for me, but it's not her speciality. If I go back on medication, I'm going to go to a psychiatrist, for me, I feel more safe in taking what he prescribes. Let me know how you are doing, it's great having the support on this site so that we can help each other. God bless Becky

Dear Becky, What you told me about your friend gave me some hope. I am glad she is doing good. I agree about finding the right Doctor, we are on a very limited HMO and its so hard, I talked to one Doctor who specializes only in panic/anxiety and depression, its very expensive, I am hoping she will work with me about the cost. I recieved my Lucinda Basset tapes today to try risk-free for 30 days my friend suggested, I figure it cannot hurt, since I do not have a car and my husband works long hours a home-study program could help, I prayed that God leads me to the right person or answer. I am so happy about your friend, did it take a long time for the Paxil to start working? I hope you are well and your jaw face and head tension has eased, I had posted you earlier in the week, Thanks again, hope to hear from you soon. God bless, Debbie.
