I love that. I believe that only good comes from God and problems are apart of this fallen world. This isn't heaven yet. I can't believe God decides to give you problems, but He does allow it. Maybe you were saying the same thing, just a matter of semantics. I do like what this poem is saying, you just can't pray for God to vanish all bad things away from you, but He will give you the strength, grace, and patience to deal with it. Again, it is up to us to take those steps. I first saw this poem on the fridge of relative of my husbands. Their daughter was bitten by a tick many years ago. Today she has the worst documentated case of Lyme's Disease in North America. She is in a wheelchair and cannot fully talk. Yet her mind is fully functioning. This family has not dwelled on this, but have found ways to empower her in every way possible. I 've never seen anyone deal with a tradegy so well in my life, it's truly inspiring. Thanks for posting this. It's a great reminder to us all.

I found this one day, I'm not sure where. But, it made a lot of sense to me and I wanted to share it with all of you. I hope it makes sense to you also and helps give you reason to the maddness: I asked God to take away my pain. God said no. It is not for Me to take away, but for you to give it up. I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said no. Her spirit is whole, her body is only temporary. I asked God to grant me patience. God said no. Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned. I asked God to give me happiness. God said no. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you. I asked God to spare me pain. God said no. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to Me. I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said no. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said no. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things. I asked God to help me love others as much as He loves me. God said.... Aahhhh, finally you have the idea. What I got out of this is that God gives us problems because He knows that sorrow and problems will make us stronger. It is up to us to follow His lead and have faith that He knows what is best for us whether or not we feel we can handle it. What I got out of this is that He loves us enough to give us problems because he has faith in our ability to conquer and He knows we will be better for it. I wanted to share it with all of you and I hope it reminds you (as it does me) that everything has a reason and we will be ok.
