Day 2 Still Scared

for 19 år siden 0 222 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hey Debbie! That's a really good deal for the sports thing! I used to work for Directv years and years and years ago when they first came out and I remember the sports channels were a huge seller - and extremely expensive! I'm glad you've started your meds - I hope they help you start to feel better. I'm doing alright - thanks for asking. I stopped bleeding finally - yeh! Since the massive period that my doctor forced I haven't bled since. Except for the two days of a little brown blood. I feel really stupid because I haven't started taking the pill yet. Everything I read said you should start it either within 24 hours of starting your period or the Sunday after starting. So, I don't know if I should wait until my next period or if I should start them now or what. I've been really nervous about the whole blood clot side effects thing, which is why I didn't start them to begin with but I'm thinking I should just go ahead at least for awhile because my doctor said I need to in order to straighten out my hormones so this problem I've been having won't turn into cancer. I just hate meds of any kind so much!! -ARGH- My husband went in for a hernia surgery this last week so I've been having a really stressful week. Next week is going to be really stressful financially because he had to take an entire week off work. That payday runs into the same time that I have to get my boys registered for school so I'm worried about the whole money issue with that being so expensive. It just seems like it's always something - I'm sure everyone understands that. :confuse: So, I'm trying to stay calm during all the anticipation of the upcoming stress. I don't know.... I guess I've been through worse times before so I'll make it through again. It'll be a tough month but as they say - this too shall pass. :| Thank God this website is here to help me get through such stressful times. :)

Thank you Vickers for calling, I know you are busy with the kids and I appreciate you taking the time. My husband and son have a new gadget, they can view sports on the computer for $9.95 a month instead of paying direct TV a hundred dollars or more! So I understand I rarely can get the computer myself these days, like late a night when they are sleeping. I think the pharmisist I spoke with was concerned about sedation, both Paxil and Klonopin are sedating a nd perhaps he was worried about driving or such? Paxil does make me tired, Zoloft made me very wired, I am keeping my miligrams of each very low, I know these two meds are the WORST to come off, I just want to take enough to "keep my head above water" so to speak. How are you doing VIckers? How are you feeling? I hope well. Talk to you soon and thank you so much again. God bless, Debbie.

Hey Debbie! Sorry it took me a couple days to get back to you - teenagers and the battle of the computer.... ;) Kraft's info is correct. The pharmacist said there are no problems mixing the Paroxetine and Klonopin. So, you're ok to take them both. I don't know why that one pharmacist told you there would be a problem. Maybe he / she misunderstood or something. How are you feeling today?

Thank you SO much Kraft for calling the pharmasist and for all the woderful information. I took the Paxil Wed and Thurs and I forgot to take it today [I am not use to it yet} I am going to lay it out each night so I do not forget, I did alright today even through I forgot today. Wed and Thursday I felt more calm, but sluggish and sedated, which I guess is better than panicky and having crying jags, I take the Klonopin at night to sleep, that med scares me, I know its addicting and I know I am probably dependent on it to sleep, I have been on Klonopin almost 2 years, which is a long time, I am just so glad I kept the milligrams low and I did not take more, I am going to try to just take 1/2 a tablet when the Paxil kicks in, I fear seizures when I stop the Klonopin, but that usually just happens when you go cold turkey, I plan to wean VERY slowly on that, the weight gain on Paxil I hear happens concerns me, but you know Kraft better chubby and sane than skinny and a mess!! I am going to try to take the lowest doses possible, these 2 meds are very hard to get off but I will worry about that later, I wished I could of taken the Zoloft but it was too stimulating for me, but everyone else I have talked to loves Zoloft. Your info and explanations, especially about the inhalers made so much sense! I understand now. Again that was so very nice of you to do, I am very grateful! You are a wonderful person and your words are so kind and caring. I hope you are doing and feeling well. God bless you, Thank you so much, Debbie.

Okay Debbi, I talked to a really nice and helpful pharmacist and asked lots of questions, and I told her specifics of what you're taken, when, and the dosage. There is NOTHING to worry about! She said that there is NO known drug interaction problems between paroxetine and clonazepam! :) ;) :) I'm not sure how much you know about how the medications each work, so I will just explain it as well as I can (sorry if you already know the info!): The paroxetine (which is the medical name of the brand-name-drug "Paxil") is something that you take everyday, and it builds up in your system (in a good way). It's job is to work on the seratonin in your brain so that everything starts working properly again, and your anxiety and panic attacks should get much better. You and your doctor need to find the right dosage of the Paxil that your body needs so that the chemicals in your brain and working properly again -- the Paxil will likely take several weeks to kick in (since it needs to build up in your system before it's effective), so in the mean time, don't worry about this please! If you feel strange in the mean time, it could be real side effects of your body adjusting, or it could just be your worries that are causing the physical side effects -- in either case, if it gets really bad then make sure that you tell your doctor about it in case he needs to change the dosage, and I would encourage you not to worry about it too much for the first week or two and just to see if your body does adjust. My doctor has me coming back every 2 weeks to see how I'm doing, and it's often normal to have adjustment side effects to new medication like this, so I usually wait the 2 weeks and tell him what's going on, but one time when I couldn't stand the side effects, I went back after less than a week and told him about them. The clonazepam (the medical name for the brand-name-drug "Klonopin") is like a sedative/calmant. This is to be taken when needed, to relieve anxiety very quickly. The pharmacist said that it's not good to stay on this drug for a long time. Do you get panic attacks at night? I am guessing that, because likely if you're supposed to take the Klonopin at night, it's to relax you so that you can sleep. Am I right? Years ago when I got panic attacks, a wa

Hi Debbi, okay I am going to call a pharmacist for you -- even though I barely know you, I love you (as a friend / sister) and don't want you to go through this medication fear anymore! If I post internet info about the 2 interecting, will that also help you to not worry about it? I always look up medication interactions on the internet and there's good, accurate info! KD

Hi Vickers, I guess I sound overly worried don't I? I took Paxil and Lorazapam 3 years ago together too with no trouble. I guess what I am concerned about is the Clonazapam {Klonopin} has a VERY long half-life and stays in your body like 24 hours or so, where the lorazapam is only in the body for 10-12 hours, I guess the nurse thought I needed the extra time so it would not wear off and cause anxiety to soon. I am taking 20 miligrams of the Paroxetine, which is generic Paxil, in the morning and then I am to take one 0.5 clonazapam at night, two pharmisists I spoke with had conflicting views!! Which of course sends me into a panic! I hate for you to call pharmacies VIckers, it is summer vacation and I KNOW you have your hands full with your boys, I know with one it can have me hopping! You are probably very busy. I just have to get over this fear that the two meds are interacting and going to build up and kill me or something, the Clonazapam she has not mentioned weaning yet, through I guess I could try taking 1/2 a tablet at night, I know weaning from benzo's is hard and has to be done very slowly and carefully, or you could have a seizure {worst case senerio} I am trying to get through this, I am very short of breath today, which is rare, perhaps its anxiety and not the meds, I want to feel better so bad Vickers, I wish I could just take the meds and forget about it! How are you doing? How is the hormone treatment going? Has the bleeding stopped, I hope. I prayed you would feel better. I hope you are doing well. Please write me when you have time and the boys are not on the computer {I have that problem too with my hubby and son} God bless, Debbie.

Hey Debbie! I took Paxil and Lorazepam. Is Klonopin for an at the moment effect or is it a daily sedation like Paxil? I really don't think your doctor would prescribe you both if he was worried there was a problem with them interacting. If Klonopin is a daily sedation type thing like Paxil then I would have to wonder why you are taking both. I do know that when I was getting off the Paxil, I read that sometimes a doctor will have you start a new medication while you are weaning off the other to make the withdrawals less severe. Are you being weaned off Klonopin? I guess I just don't know enough about Klonopin to give you advice about taking them together. But, if you want, I would be more than happy to call a couple pharmacies out here and get some opinions for you. Just tell me the dosage on both and I will see what I can find out for you. I know you got a couple different answers from a couple different pharmacies out there so I understand your concern. But, I would be more than happy to make some calls for you to find out for sure for you if that would help you feel more at ease.

Hi gang, This is my second day on the paxil, I am cutting them in half. About an hour after taking I feel so strange, "wired and tired" I fear this medicine is building up in my body too much, does that not sound strange? I am taking 10 miligrams in the morning and my 0.5 Klonopin at midnight, I hope this is safe, I have this terrible feeling I am going to "overdose" I feel very doped and sedated, but still anxious and scared, is that possible? Do you think my body is not elimanating these meds alright? My head feels fuzzy and I feel short of breath headachy nausated. I hope this goes away. My chest feels tight and I have pain in my arm. Paxil cannot cause a heart attack or anything can it, is it safe with the Klonopin? I know this is probably all "new med anxiety" I hate to take it and feel more scared and worried, does the medicine eliminate it? Thank you all for your prayers, I am trying so hard to stay strong and get well, I am going to ask my nurse when she arrives back in town for Paxil CR, I took that 2 years ago, this is "paroxtine" is that the same as Paxil, I am SO scared about an adverse reaction and I am home alone with my little one. Please keep praying, I hate this "overdose" fear, especially when I feel the amount of both meds is fairly low. Thanks guys, sorry if this sounds rambly, I feel real dizzy and strange, I hope this subsides. God bless, Debbie.
