"Cat"- where does Jesus have a panic attack in the Bible?

Hey Debbie! Don't worry about your son - he's ok! People bonk their heads, legs, feet, knees, arms, shoulders, etc.... all the time and never get anything more than a bruise. It takes a lot more than a bonk (even a really bad bonk) to take a person down. He'll be ok! As far as giving up and learning to live with it goes, I say kind of and heck no! What I mean is that you absolutely should not give up because only when we give up do we fail. But when I say kind of, I mean that this is part of our lives right now. One thing that helps is to let it go and accept it for what it is by not obsessing about getting better or getting worse. Wow - that's really confusing..... I guess what I mean is to keep fighting it but also accept it for what it is today. That doesn't mean it will be the same tomorrow. But, this is how it is today and it's ok. Does that make any sense at all? :confuse: I think I even confused myself with that one!! -Crimeny- Hang in there Debbie - you're both going to be ok!!

Alison I would never think you were being sarcastic you have been very helpful. I live in Florida. Cat I will call that New life it sounds very hopeful, I did not know about Jesus's panic attack in the Garden, that was very interesting and somewhat helpful, he does know how I feel. I am going to walk a little with my son now, I hear exercise is good for axiety and depression, a walk may do good. You are all wonderful. GOd bless, Debbie.

When I wrote, "as far as I know Paxil hasn't killed anyone" just want you to know that wasn't sarcastic. As I sincerly understand. You wouldn't even believe what I 'research'! Hey, you ARE getting through is, you HAVE gotten through this, and you WILL continue to get through this! This will only defeat you if you let it! Where do you live again?

My son has ADHD with speech problems. We walk alot with our dog and do homework and do things together. I am going to get a bike to go bike riding with him. I take the Klonopin at night, and occasionaly during the day if its real bad. I will just have to get through this and be strong for my son. Thanks Alison, Deb.

Debbie, do you listen to Christian radio? If so, you can call or e-mail New Life and they will give you a mentor who will call you weekly to help you. I just signed up for it. Also, yes I think it may help you not to fight this so much, but to understand that when your nerves are bad, they just need some time to heal. I think you're just adding to your anxiety, by being anxious about being anxious. The Bible says to give thanks in ALL things. Why not try giving thanks for how you are feeling right now, that kind of lets God into the situation, and in charge of it. Then He can work with you. Did you know that Jesus had the BIGGEST panic attack ever, in the garden of Gethsemane? A really bad panic attack can cause you to sweat blood, which is what He did. So He knows just how you feel, and what you are going through right now. Place it in His hands, and when the fear comes, back, place it in God's hands again, and again, and again. Will be praying for you, He loves you!(enough to sweat blood) Cathie

I see your dilema with the medications. How old is your son and what kind of special needs does he have? Is there any kind of social network, like a group that concerns your son's special needs available to you? Do you go to a church? Are you able to take walks in your area? I know staying home can really compound problems when you have too much time to think. Have you been able to cut down on the Klonopin at all?

Hi Alison, I do not work right now, my son is special-needs and we have only one care and my husband works very long hours nights weekends etc... He has some health problems, gout, high blood pressure, diabeties and my family is in another state, my few friends do not really understand and shy away from this disorder so I do not talk too much about it. I guess my situation sounds pretty dire, I get so lonely and scared. I just called a prayer ministry and feel a little hope. I cannot go cold-turkey off the Klonopin, I am afraid to take Paxil and Klonopin toghether, I am trying to muster the courage. I hope things are well with you ALison, thank you for concern, God bless, Deb.

Hang in there Debbie! :) Do you work? Will your son be in school this fall? I find a solid routine can really help things. I think you answered your own question: you do not want to just 'live' with it. Cause as we know, that isn't living! If your afraid of mixing the 2 drugs, can't you just take the paxil? I know you are really feeling hopeless right now. We have all had those times. Your boy is fine, a blood clot or concussion is caused from a major trauma. I don't think you need to feel bad about taking any medication right now. It could really help you get through these times right now. As far as I researched, Paxil hasn't killed anyone. What is your doctor's advice?

Dear Gang, Last night my little boy bumped his head very hard on the cupboard. I totally freaked, my husband was going out the door to work and we were all alone, I wanted to call the paramedics but my son screamed and said "NO" he got very very angry at me for panicking, last week he hurt his foot, I know kids hurt themselves but its really no comfort. I stayed up all night watching for signs of a concussion or blood clot!! I am still watching him, my nerves are shot! I have tried therapy, medication, prayer, postive thinking and I still am a mess, panic anxiety and depression running rampant, my coping skills are none. Should I just "learn to live with it" like people with arthritis, diabieties, high blood pressure etc... do?? It seems like really thinking rock bottom when I decide that. I do NOT want to "learn to live with it" I want it to go away or at least subside somewhat so I can live a somewhat semi-normal life, I do not want to hurt my husband or son, I am afraid to take the Paxil with the Klonopin because I am afraid a horrible interaction will take place. Learning to live with it seems so sad so pathetic and so final, I feel like a failure, I do not know how much longer I can wake and feel like this, afraid to live afraid to die, thinking at any moment I could drop dead of a stroke or heart attack, should I just accept everything has failed and live with it? I don't know how to do this because a part of me so wants to get well and beat it but I feel very weak and weary, like "IT" won. I will not stop praying, I am crying as I write this because I am so tired of the battle, of losing. Everything has failed. If anyone can help please. God bless you all, Debbie.
