Gina, Is it possible there is something going on at home that makes you not want to go home? Another thing that happens sometimes is we have an attack, then the next time we're faced with doing the same task again, we panic because it already happened before. Does that make sense? If you have an attack when you drive home, the next night you start thinking "Oh no, what if it happens again?" Sure enough, the anticipation of it happening again, brings on another attack. You could try some self relaxation, pull over as needed, remind yourself it will pass and you made it home twice before safely. Maybe tell yourself, one more block or mile and if I feel bad, I'll pull over. Put on some relaxing music, breathe in through your nose for 3 seconds and out your mouth for 3 seconds, notice the sky, birds, or sunset. Just a couple of suggestions that have helped me before.

Are you too anxious to go home? I used to be like that -- I would leave my classes later so I wouldn't come home early, as I didn't have it in me to 'face-up' to the reality, ie., husband, cooking and cleaning... I don't like driving and when I do drive it alwas takes me longer because of my anxiety... I think when we think too hard about things we tend to become anxious??? Am not sure... I hope you feel better.... B
