side commentary .. any "rehab clinic" that uses beCalm'd as a replacement for Xanax (as a PA/PD treatment) or on a patient who's on Xanax for PA/PD should be shuttered and their directors & staff summarily hung, drawn, and quartered.
beCalm'd claims to boost GABA levels in your brain. Messing with the levels of GABA in PA/PD patients is like playing Russian Roulette with 4 of the 6 chambers loaded - and the gun isn't a little pea-shooter, it's closer to a .45 Magnum with a hair-trigger.
Please, please, please - Medications aren't anything to be lightly tossed around. Coupled with over-the-counter (including herbal) remedies can lead to some extremely bad problems. Even something seemingly as innocuous as grapefruit can be very troublesome (and, in the case of Xanax and many SSRIs, it is!).
If you're on a prescription med (or even something like St. John's Wort), do NOT mix it with other meds outside of what your doctor prescribes. ALWAYS ask your doctor *and* pharmacist about other over-the-counter meds to make sure they're not going to either inhibit or react with your current medication(s).
Please be careful. The right med can be a blessing to someone. The wrong med or combination can be lethal.
Be well and be kind to yourself...
The warning label on beCalm'd clearly states:

I'm going to highlight the key part:
Not to be taken [...] for panic disorders
Be well..
There is a product called be calm'd that helps you get off of, or substitutes for xanax. They use it in rehabs all over the U.S. Just type be calm'd in a search engine and you should be able to find it. Cathie

re: getting of Xanax
First .. you're not a junkie. Get that idea out of your head - pronto. :-)
Getting off Xanax isn't too bad. When the time comes, simply lower your dosages at each time. If you're on 1mg 3x/day, then go to 0.75mg 3x/day for a week or two .. then to 0.5mg 3x/day .. then drop one .. then down to 0.25mg 2x/day .. then 0.25 1x/day .. and then .. no more. Make sure you give each reduction a week or two for your body to get used to it.
CAVEAT: I'm not a doctory or pharmacist (although I do understand the mechanics of Xanax rather well). Confirm this course of action with your doctor first, as with any medication! Keeping your doctor in the loop at all times will (hopefully) ensure you're getting the best care possible.
Kind Regards~
Outlaw, Have you ever used any meds, like SSRIs that have been tolerable? Maybe you could start one while still on the xanax? And only come off the xanax after the bad side effects have gone away? My husband has some mild anxiety and he started wellbutrin. We went on vacation right after he started and he was an absolute mess. He wouldn't leave our hotel room all week. HE was so anxious and nauseated. he didn't want to ge tin the car either. I didn't think we would make it home. BUt he switched to lexapro and it worked for him. I really think that some meds just don't work with some people. Hopefully there is something for you too. Do you see a doc? Hope you are feeling better outlaw. We are here for you!!!!
