I know many of us planned to become healthier weight wise and physical activity wise this year! I was at the doctor's this morning for a mini-physical, and I'm happy to announce that since Jan 4 I've lost 30 lbs. My overall cholesterol has dropped 56 points and my bad cholesterol has dropped 54 points! My blood pressure is back to a normal range (123/72). I'm half way to my goal weight wise, and all of the other numbers can only get better! I'm eating healthy, drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day, and exercising 5 days a week. Lots of fiber and protein, minimal white foods (white flour, sugar, potatoes, etc.)
So for anybody who is concerned about gaining weight while quitting smoking, focus on one battle at a time. Don't worry about gaining a few pounds as they will eventually come off! As somebody once said, you can always lose weight. You cannot lose C.O.P.D. or other lung diseases!
