I almost ruined my quit

Hey Teresa!

I'm sure glad you came to your senses just in time!  You are still going to crave from time to time, and you just have to keep in mind that you want your quit more than you want to go back to that addiction!  It sure would have been hell going through those first 54 day again, huh?

Have a great smoke-free weekend, buddy!

Whoa, that was a close one, Teresa. May I ask why you kept the cigarettes in your car? Having them so accessable at this point is very dangerous, because those junkie thoughts have a way of making it appear justifiable, but you were able to overcome it. That's a definite good sign that you are well on your way to a wonderful smoke-free life. Congratulations Teresa, you faced a very difficult situation and pulled yourself through. That's proof to me that you are getting stronger every day. Keep going now. You've got an awesome quit going.

Dang those hormones

Yay, Tess!! Well done... I got the sweats as I was reading your opening lines on your post and felt well and truly relieved when you said that in the end you slung the cigarettes away and destroyed the damn things!! Good for you.... I have no fears for you at all now... you've proved your mettle right there and you'll be that much stronger when you hit any further nagging thoughts about the filthy things!!!

Way cool.   I'm ecstatic for you ( and yer hoss...)

Therese--a big congrats for saving the GREAT quit you've got going.........

I think it was a good idea to get rid of the temptation so close. I lost my last quit by having the cigarettes too acessible. (partly the reason)...

Anyway--way to fight the demon.....keep remembering that it's NOPE....one minute, one hour or one day at a time........we CAN do this together.
