Glad to hear that you got the all clear! It does take time for your body to heal but it is always best to check with the doc to make sure it isn't thing else. I too have had a couple of spells where my chest felt heavy and I felt short of breath... one just this week. Take care and hope you are feeling better soon!

Well, went to the dr's and he said I am fine. My body is just healing. I just hate feeling like I am having a constant heart attack..LOL LOL...I started taking Prilosec OTC and I am hoping that this helps.

Judy,
As all bodies heal differently this may be a part of your recovery process. It is normal to develop a cough and many smokers complain of feeling heavy headed or like their sinuses are blocked. We suggested making a note of all of the symptoms that you are experiencing for your doctor.

Hey Judy!
I had acid belly problems before I quit and the Chantix I took really enhanced the problem!!! I would take a Pepcid AC at lunch time and before I went to bed and that seemed to help the problem, but sometimes I had to take a Rolaid, too.
I quit taking the Chantix just before the end of the first 4 weeks, as I thought I no longer needed it and after that, most of my heartburn problem went away!!! Since then, I have had occassional heartburn problems, but not like I had before!!!

Hi Judy,
I have had an on going problem with heartburn since the third day of my quit. I finally went to my doctor last week, and he said it could be that the healing process my body is going through, could cause excessive stomach acid. I now have to see a gastroenterologist.
I did get temporary relief with some antacids, but if I forgot to take it before bed, I would be woken with heartburn.
I hope you don't have as severe stomach problems. Let me know what your doctor says. OK?
Just don't think that smoking will help. You're doing great!

Today I am on day 37 of my quit and for the past couple of days, I feel like i always have a chest cold or heartburn. I'm hoping this is still part of the withdraw. Anyway, I have an appointment with the DR tomorrow to make sure things are ok. Anyone else feel like this during thier quit?
