Some of us had problems at about 5 months, and then at about 9 months. This will pass Jaqui. Any consillation to you Jacqui i felt like a piece of crap for 6 months to a year. I re-read my allen Carr book over & over, threw tantrums, constantly worked non-stop for 8 ours straight cos i had no smoke breaks anymore (i'm not joking)+ i hated everyone for my predicament - my quit was just one big crave. All i can say is exercise & diet plays a bigger part in this than you could possibly imagine just think of the peace & tranquility you get from not having an addiction. You spend a whole day with a smoker, they leave their smokes behind & you wonder why you have craves !.... no further comment on that one sorry. Drinking too much coffee + weight gain is asking for it as too much coffee is self destruction & will do you in - esp a noob quitter, been there !. May i suggest a change of diet, but i spose you've heard it all before - good luck, i think you're gonna need it. So before you started smoking you were miserable and then you started smoking and you were happy and now you've quit smoking and you're miserable again.Hmmm I guess the answer is obvious to this one, keep on smoking and take the chance that you won't die before you're time with some smoking related disease.Good luck on that one . Jacqui, I never saw anybody post that smoking greatly improved their situation or made them feel better. I don't want to repeat hell week and I don't want to inhale those 4,000 chemicals either do you? The craves will stop as long as you keep quitting. You are in a pit of some kind, deep breaths, take a walk, read a book, watch a movie and it will pass. Perhaps some exercise will help you clear you head. I know it does mine. Jacqui, lots of members have said it before me so I won't belabour the point. There is some big stressor going on in your life, maybe several, that you need to attend to so that you won't keep falling into the "Gees, I need a smoke..." trap. You want to "fill a hole" is what you want. Some unresolved irritation in your life above and beyond cigarettes and the addiction you've dealt with so well up to now, is putting you on the ropes. And maybe now you're blocking access to that irritation by assuming that you need a cigarette to ease some nebulous stress. Think and focus on the addiction. It just keeps you going round and round the 10th circle of Hell. Deal with the pain of the irritation and forget about cigarettes... They never made anything better... Sorry if this sounds rude, Jacqui, but if you have not benefited from quitting in any way, then why worry about staying quit? However, I will repeat what I said earlier: I am quite sure that you don't smell like nasty stale old nicotine anymore. Every smoker smells like that, and I'm sure you smell much better now.
