Krystle, the same thing happened to me three years ago. I'd done 5 months (5 months!!!!) and then my darling wife decided to walk out on me and our three young children. I went back to smoking; partly because I'm an addict, and I think at some level, because I knew she didn't like it. All very understandable but unlike you I didn't get back on again. That cost me another three years of smoking with all the bad things that we all know go with it. And now I have to do the five months again! It wasn't a very clever idea. I was so close to being free back then. So well done on getting back on your quit. Stay with it. Thank you all, so very much. I think the boyfriend *is* coming back. I know he is.. he has a wedding to attend in 8 months lol,, HIS!! That aside, i wasnt prepared for how quickly i'd crumble. I really thought i was doing ok, and i was. It was almost too easy, save for the first 7 days., but then the minute stress kicked in, the nag, nag, nag was there in the back of my head, and it took hold. Its now almost 2am, ive managed not to go back, this "1st" day wasnt as bad as my 1st 1st day. I havent put 6 pounds on in 2 weeks for no reason. I wont succumb..... thank you xx My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 300 Amount Saved: 75.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 57 Seconds: 33

Krystle, Some one once said 'put your big girl panties on and run your life' or somthing like that. I Have done what you are doing now and I am here to tell you it will back fire in the long run. Once you know you should quit it wears on your self esteme each time you smoke. It is totally up to you but no matter who is in your life it is up to you to take care of yourself. Other people will only be as good to you as you are. and BTW that 15 days is awsome. Krystle: You did 15 days, and that is awsome! Please don't let this bump in the road cause you to lose your resolve and strength. To my mind, that gives your (ex)partner the control over you, and I am pretty sure that is not what you want. Also, it was not nice of him to bail on you during one of the most difficult challenges of your life. Hang in there.....

Hi Krystle, A trigger hit and you weren't prepared for it this early in the game. It happens but it doesn't mean the game is over. Get back on the wagon. The sooner, the better, the lesser the withdrawal symptoms. Just as others have said, smoking is not the answer. You can do this and we are with you every step of the way! Krystle - I did the same thing 13 years ago when my husband walked out on me. I ran straight to the cigarettes. Well, I continued to smoke and smoke and smoke. Last year when I knew it was time to quit I couldn't believe I risked my life for him. My smoking didn't affect anyone but me. Do what you need to do right now. Sorry to hear that you returned to smoking. However, I am pleased and hopeful that you did 15 days sans the weed. I imagine that your domestic situation has set off a great deal of emotional turmoil and for that my heart goes out to you. Perhaps a good thing to do at this point is to settle your self down. The boy friend may be gone at the moment, but you remain and so it will be for all of your life, regardless of who or what is in your life at any given moment. You will always have you and it is best to become the best you that is possible. You have done a wonderful thing by realizing that smoking is something that you should leave behind. Be kind to yourself now, try to even out the sadness and use the time to make yourself better. You know you have not really lost those 15 days, they belong to you. When you are stronger begin to regain your will to defeat the addiction. Smoking is not just an external act. For many of us it is deeply rooted in our emotional and spiritual being. It is difficult to get it out of there, but not impossible. It is a worthy goal and one which is well worth striving towards... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 384 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,520 Amount Saved: $4,032.00 Life Gained: Days: 71 Hrs: 14 Mins: 33 Seconds: 12
