Gosh Della ,i'm sorry to hear about your situation, can you see if your dr can provide a medicine that he/she can provide samples of? My dr is good about that, but i'm on generic paxil ,its my 4th week& i'm feeling great today. Hope you can get help soon, most drs understand they see this quite often ,i'm sure.My dr sayes its getting more often last couple of yrs becuz of the way this world's going ,news, etc. Hope you find help soon, maybe going to church & talk with them ,even if it's by phone might help too? I've been on Medical Leave since Labor Day weekend. I am scheduled to return Jan 21, although I'm very sure I'm not ready. I work for a company that makes electronic chips for computers, cell phones, hearing aids, etc. I work 12-hr shifts on a fast-paced production line that plates the chips with silver, gold, platinum, etc. I have seen no change in my mental state since going on leave. In fact it's gotten worse. Since taking leave; I was denied my short-term disabilty benefit because I filed a claim within the 1st anniversary date of the policy, and because of this I was told it makes my condition "Pre-Existing". Also, since I've been out of work for more than 12 weeks, I lose my medical and pharmacy coverage and must take COBRA. I can no longer see the Dr's, or take my meds, I just can't afford them. My meds cost me $500.00+ without insurance. I have firomyalgia, GAD, depression and PTSD. This whole experience is driving me crazy (literally). I took leave to pursue a vigorous physical therapy program and then saw no benefit from it--only the excruciating pain. Hope all goes well for everyone. It tough being broke, especially at Christmas (I'll turn 47 Christmas Day). Happy holidays to all, Della from SC

Hi Chris, I can relate to your situation, I'm currently unemployed as a computer support technician. This job was emotionally draining for me, esp. dealing with customer complaints. You were working in a highly emotionally draining work environment esp. in a nursing home activities. My mental health worker suggested that I start slowly, possibly in some type of part-time work, not in a high stress job, but something that I could handle due to my bipolar and anxiety condition. I often feel confused on what do to next, talking about your feelings to your doctor or therapist or close friend will help you make a more informed decision. You can find a job counselling service or your local HRDC - Human Resources Development Canada office. There are tests to determine your transferable job skills. You could be suited for hospitality like motel or restaurant or janitorial work. Remember to find a job you like doing on a daily basis. My approach is to take things one day at a time, probably concentrate on your living expenses first like rent & utilities, ect. Xmas is a very stressful time for a lot of us, we should concentrate less on gifts, but the important thing is to spend time with our families. I often feel alone,I find that along with my meds and sef-help group,I feel better. Exercise like walking does wonders for me. Remember when you feel down, go out and do something...anything just to get out and socialize a bit, or have a coffee with a friend. Take care and Happy Holidays!
