Yes I'm noticing positives in my quit. I'm more clear headed than I was before when I was smoking. I smell pretty good. I don't have to go outside to smoke when it's freezing out there. My money lasts a lot longer now. I noticed my breathing is a lot better too. It's been great all around. Tomorrow is Day 16 for me and I'm looking forward to that. I'm over Hell Week and Heck Week now and I hope it gets easier as time goes by. I don't want to start smoking again that's for sure. I'm not spending Xmas alone which is nice. Tomorrow I'm going for turkey supper at a friend's. It will be a real treat for me. I just hope I won't be irritable when I go over there. Going to have to take deep breaths otherwise. hey Ginette, that is an awesome quit you have going there, and a wonderful gift you are giving yourself. You must be noticing positives by now, your sense of smell, taste, ease of breathing, yes? I still notice something positive everyday. Especially when I don't have to leave friends and family to go smoke. I love the way I smell now :) Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 235 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,350 Amount Saved: $411.25 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 9 Mins: 14 Seconds: 25

Thanks Tom and Lady and Merry Xmas to both of you. Yes it is a hard thing to do in quitting, but with this site and the wonderful people like you supporting me I stand a chance of succeeding. I think I'll have my distraction, major one, coming up in the new year. I'm going to have a boarder move in with me and she doesn't smoke. More support which I'll never turn down. I'm really looking forward to that. I'm not going through a major crisis in the craving department right now and it feels good. A relief. I'm going to hang on to that for as long as I can. I'm still perspiring quite a bit which I know is part of the withdrawal symptoms. It's funny you'd think being on the patch that wouldn't happen, but it does. I think it's more psychological than anything else as far as the patch is concerned, but I'm using it anyway, since it's been helping. Well, going to sign off now. Take care all of you. Merry Christmas Ginette. I just wanted to tell you how great I think you are for hanging in there. This is my first Christmas since quitting and I've had a record number of craves as of late. You'd think I would be past that by now, I did. I think, in a way, you're lucky to face this so early in your quit while you're not unaccustomed to the strong craves. I've not felt craves like this since early on in my quit and they surprise me over and over. Like you, I still have that determination to beat this so I'm chugging away past one and into another then past it. Past the moment, you know what I mean. This is not an easy thing to do. If it were then so many others would have done it and be doing it as we speak. It's hard, dam hard! Good for you that you have the strength to get through. I remember day 14 for me. I think that was one of the very worse days of my quit. It gets better. Hang on tight. Go for a walk and notice all the new smells out there! You will be surprised at what you have been missing. Jig saw puzzles, going to the movies, funny tv, cross word puzzles, chatting on line are all good distractions too. You can do this. Remember if you smoke, you are starting all over again and I'm sure you don't want to do that! Thanks, Lady. I'm doing a few things to keep distracted which is helping like typing on the computer. In a little while I'm going out and treating myself again. Going for biscuit and soup for lunch. I just got to get out of the apartment. Get away from the stinking thinking. I'm hoping that it gets a little easier again. I don't know how long I can hold out. But I'm going to stay away from that cig. Ginette, Take five minutes at a time. You are very early in the quit and it is really hard but look around you at all the quitters that have gone before you. We know exactly what you mean. Remember that each situaiton you make it through makes you that much stronger for the next. It takes time to get over the addiction but you are doing great. Take deep breaths, drink plenty of ice water and do whatever it takes not to smoke. It really is worth it. Thanks Lizzie. This is my 15th day now and I'm still hanging in there. Cravings come and go and sometimes they hit pretty hard. But I have to think of myself as a non-smoker. I feel more clear headed since I quit and that's a good feeling. I'm not in a fog any more. I'm sleeping better now and sleeping in which is a switch. I feel more energized too. Will do everything in my power not to smoke today.
