Fainted, Now I can't stop symptom surfing!

Hi Cassie, The best advice I've ever received since being diagnosed with Panic Disorder is: EAT! Never forget to eat, don't skip meals, try to avoid junk food and drink lots of water. A gallon a day might be overdoing it a little. Overall, I agree with everyone who has posted. You didn't faint because of your panic, you fainted because you didn't eat properly. Keep your blood sugar levels normal and you should start to feel better. Don't completely cut carbs out from your diet - that's never a good idea. I hope you are feeling better soon and keep your chin up. Sarah :)

Hi all, I am a new member and although I feel for all of you who feel the fright of fainting, it is also comforting to know I am not alone. I think it boils down to a loss of control --if I faint I am no longer in control. But as far you REALLY fainting -- that sounds to me like a drop in blood sugar. Even if there are times you cannot eat right -- then carry some lifesavers or something in your pocket until you can get to some real food. Stephani

Thank you for your replies! Actualy I was born and raised in Canada but four yeas ago I came to the U.S to go to school. So I do know about the wonderfull health care and wish so badly I could returne untill I get myself figured out. The stress alone from being out of my country and away from family has been unbelievable. Unfortunaly and I hope this doesnt sound weird when 9/11 happend I came unglued, I was terrified to tavel even by car. My mum is going to send me some money so I can make a doc appointment, now I have to build up the strength to go and hope he doesnt tell me Im dieing of some awfull disease. A CT Scan is something I can not afford here, Im pretty sure it will cost thousands of dollers since I don't have insurence. Also test like that might send me into a nervous break down, I don't think I could handle the possibility of someone seeing my brain. Logic or no logic it terrifies me. Thank you for your support

Hi Cassie, I know what you are saying. I too consistently think I have a brain tumor, it usually varies between that and a mini stroke too. I am dizzy and light headed all the time, haven't fainted yet, but I am constantly afraid I will. If I was in your shoes I would be reacting the exact same way. I do empathize with you about not being able to afford to see a doctor...Here in Canada all of our health care is pretty much covered, which can be good but for people with panic, it means we can have test after test without paying, reassuring yes..but kind of embarassing when they all come back fine. I know that some people come here to buy meds because they are much cheaper than in the states...I am guessing that is where you are from. I really think that it was probably the eating thing that did it. I stopped eating for a span of 4 weeks, would hardly eat anything, I lost 15 pounds and thought I was dying...once I started eating normally (carbs and all) I started gaining weight back. I hope you can find the money to see a doctor I think a CT scan would really help ease your mind about the brain tumor thing.

Cassie - I am a fainter(mine is more panic related)....its a horrible experience BUT in your case I am certain it was due to the fact that you were not eating properly. If I were you, I would not skip meals, eat 3 meals per day with a few snacks inbetween and increase the carbs to a more natural level........You didnt faint because of panic....you fainted like anyone else would in your case of not eating......

I can understand your feelings because I have been there. I thought I had everything in the world at one point or another. It's been a few years now and I'm still living so I just stopped worrying about it. I have been seeing a Dr and I do take meds to help me out. While you are on the internet search for low income health care services in your area because I believe you would definitely benefit under a Dr's care. You MUST eat and drink fluids on a regular basis because your body needs it. Take good care of your body and it will help you enormously. Take care Rose

TextTextText Text Hi my name is Cassie, I am a 28 year old female who was diagnosed with Panic/Anxiety dissorder 2 years ago. My anxiety seems to be triggered by health concernes. Honestly I think Im dieing of some terrible disease most of the time. I have diagnosed myself by symptom surfing and have had everything from Ovarian Cancer, blood cancer, Hodgkins Lymphoma and now Im convinced that I have a brain Tumor or had a mini stroke. I changed my diet 2 1/2 months ago, I did the low carb thing, I cut out all white bread pasta and junk food. I eat more in the morning and afternoon and by 6 I don't eat at all. I drink a gallon of water a day. I have lost 30 pounds in two and a half months and instead of being happy Im scared that Im losing weight because Im sick with something. 2 weeks ago I went a few days with hardly eating, 2 sat. ago I didnt eat at all. I got up early and had to do some updo's for homecoming and went about 13 hours with out eating and the only fluid I had was 2 beer after work. BF and me decided to go out to dinner and not five min after I ate, I suddenly became sick, I felt numb all over with tingles, the start of the sensations I thought I was going to have an axxiety attack but quickly relized that this was different. I had vertigo really bad so I lay my head on the table and the next think I new bf was pulling me up from the slouched position because I had fainted or blacked out. When I can to I was weak all over and I could hardly hold the glass of water I was attempting to drink. I have never fainted befor and this scared me so bad, that I have been having Anxiety attack upon anxiety attack with no reliefe in between. I keep thinking that IM going to faint again and become so fearfull I want to run out of the house screaming! I went on line to see about my symptoms and now I Believe I had a mini stoke or that I have a brain tumor or maybe both. Last year I lost my job and had to go off of my meds (Prozac 40mg) This last year has been stressfull for me and my bf, losing my job, not seeing family in 4 years having to go off meds, we built a new home and had to live with 3 different friends untill complete. I spend all my time allone
