Hi and welcome. I worked as a nurse for several years and you are right. In one way you relax about the general stuff but in another way it freaks you out because you are aware of all the "Could Be" thoughts. I like Xanax because it nips those panic attacks in the bud for me and the lexapro I recently quit taking but I know it helped me a great deal not to be such a worry wort.

Friendly little panic attacks eh? Sounds cute...sounds like your therapy is working anyway. You are probably on the way to recovery this very minute! I'm sorry I'm not in the medical field, and I don't think I'm a hypocondriac, although some other people may think I am; but my health problems are real...it's just that most people do not have as many as I have, and if I start to explain the last ten years of my life, people can't believe it. Well, that's their problem, not mine. A stressful job in a medical setting sounds like that would bring on friendly little panic attacks from time to time. There have been others on this site who had the same problem, and maybe they will write in too...

Hi Brian, Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing with us today. This is a great place to discuss feelings and expereinces rleated to panic and anxiety. This support group is full of understanding individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When youre finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Take care and we hope to hear from you soon. Hey i am new here, and trying to confront my friendly little panic attacks and hopefully ending them for good. Currently i am seeing someone about them as well as using xanax as needed, although i think i am going to jump on Lexapro. I wanted to deal unmedicated but i have been having these for three years and i am hopeing by using treatment it will help me get through them. One problem i think i have and i dont know if anyone else is in my shoes, but i work in the med field for years and i am also a hypercondriac *sp* this is one big thing that starts my attacks. Anyway i am talking too much.. Feel free to write back if you can relate or with any helpful hints. To deal or how to overcome these. Brian
