Hiya,
Well i have been battling with panic and anxiety for nearly 2 years now, and from my reading and my experiences i dont think there are any irreversible physical changes. So i dont think you have anything to worry about there.
As for the weight loss... well i think anxiety can definately alter your appetite when things get tough. I have also experienced weight loss.. quite dramatically too, having lost over 60 lbs in the last 8 or 9 months.. And like you i didnt do anything to alter my diet and i certainly didnt go out of my way to lose the weight. I have no idea where it went, but since i was over weight to begin with i'm not actually that concerned :confuse: or should i be?
All i can tell you is anxiety can effect people in different ways. If you are concerned about your weight loss, or you encounter any other worries it wouldnt hurt having a chat with your doctor about it. :)

Hey guys,
Ever since I've come back to college for the fall semester, a few people have commented that they think I've lost weight and think I look good. However, this is really news to me because I didn't really do anything to merit losing weight this summer. I didn't really change my diet (although I do believe my appetite isn't what it once was. Is a change in appetite a symptom of anxiety or panic, because that would probably explain it, as my panic arose in late spring.) and I didn't exercise much. It could be just because they haven't seen me in several months, or it could have been the clothes I was wearing. I don't feel any weaker or anything like that, and when I look at myself I don't really feel as if I've lost much weight (I guess maybe 5-10 pounds in the last few months, certainly no more than 10 or 15). Do I have any reason at all to be concerned, or is this just a baseless worry? Thanks.
P.S. Does panic disorder or anxiety ever cause any irreversible (or any at all) physical damage?
