PS- Yes, I have had about a zillion test done & so far so good, I guess it's just hard to believe that anxiety can make you feel so horrible!

Thank you all so much for your support! I think my Dr. undertands what I am going through, she has been pretty good with me although she would not write me a script for any Xanax or anything like that. She told me if I wanted that I had to go to the Psychiatrist.. I can understand her point, but at the same time I have never given her any reason to believe that I would abuse it. As for having a zillion medical tests done, I never really went to the dr. before this whole thing with the anxiety & panic so if the dr. wants to send me for a zillion tests, I have to agree that it only makes me feel better in the end when it's one more thing that comes back negative! :) I seem to be doing pretty good on the Zoloft. Tonight is the third night.. does anyone else find that they don't want to be alone? Especially since I took this medicine! I live alone so it is really hard for me to not be alone. I have had my boyfriend sleep over here for the past 4 nights & he hates to sleep here because the bed is too small!! LOL. But I feel so much better when he is here! I hate being so dependant & clingy!

Michael, just to clarify something, I had blood work ekgs, chest x-ray and my thyroid checked. When i said unnecessary, I meant that I kept going back to my doctor and insisted I had a brain tumor, or ms or lupus,stomach cancer etc. Because i had a full physical and the tests all came back fine, she knew I didn't have any of these disorders. Jiji, I believe you also said you've been to your doc many times. I never meant to interpret not to get the tests done but if you've had the testing done, you have to believe that what you have is anxiety or it will not ease up. Sorry for any confusion!!

JIJI, Is your Dr educated about Panic Attacks and Anxiety? I am lucky because mine is. I wasn't even sure that was my problem. Mysymptoms are the same as passing out (but I don't actually pass out). It's horrible and started happening for no reason at ll but never in my own home. I went to my Dr. and he knew exactly what to say and how to handle me. I had passed out in April but he said it was a Vaso Vagil event and meant nothing (after testing). I think maybe that is what started my panic attacks. My Dr explained you can't pass out and have a panic attack at the same time because they are opposite physiological reactions. He said I'm not cray and that what is happening is very real in my body because of a chemical imbalance. He explained m,y body goes into panic as if there is danger but my brain can't find the danger so it starts battling my body and makes it all keep going. I URGE you to find a Dr that understands this and is compassionate to you. Take the meds if needed and prescribed by a Dr you trust - a diabetic would take insulin for their chemical imbalance, why would you not balance yourself? There may be initial side effects but work it out with your Dr. You'll be ok...we all will be...the people here are GREAT support....hang in there.

JiJi, the medical testing is important.I have had similar medical testing done and everything came back fine. That was important for me because it helped reinforce in my mind that I was ok. Without the medical testing I would only be adding to the anxiety by wondering if something was indeed wrong with me, medically. Thank God my employer has a great healthplan. Hang in there!

Hi Jiji Your Welcome. The symptoms we have mentioned above are in a lot of books and websites! The more I researched about anxiety, the more symptoms I found(and I had all of them)My doctor also has many patients with the disorder so I was lucky and didn't have to go through any uneccessary tests. I'm currently taking celexa and one half of a .25mg of clonezapam. I completed a panic program at the hospital and I just started a new one called Changeways. Coping with this disorder is tough, but once you learn the tools and change the way you think, it becomes easier. Like I said, I'm still battling with it everyday but believe me it does get better!! Sorry to ramble but because you sound like I did 6 months ago, I want to help in anyway I can because I felt so scared and so lost and I don't want anyone to have to go through that!! Take Care. P.S. Have you tried taking antacids for the nausea?

Thank you so much for your help! I actually just started taking the Zoloft my dr. prescribed for me last night. I was hoping not to use it but I figured it this way, there must be something going on in my life right now that is causing this (or maybe not) SO, if I take the meds for maybe 6 - 12 months, maybe when I go off of them, whatever I am going through will be over with. How are you feeling & how do you cope? Are you in therapy or on meds? Thanks for being here for me.. It's nice to know there is someone else out there who feels exactly the same way as me & that I am not going crazy! Do you think this would be considered severe anxiety? Because if you notice a lot of the symptoms that we experienced are not even mentioned on the anxiety chart. I don't know. I love to analyze!

Hi Jiji Yes I experienced the symptoms on a daily basis and I also visited my doctor so many times that I lost count. I still experience some symptoms daily and I know that the only thing that is really going to help is self help but it's hard isn't it? You sound exactly like me when I first came to this site. You will be o.k.!! I will help in anyway I can. Rhondda

Rhonnie, did you experience these symptoms on an every day basis? Some people are telling me this is not normal & I am getting nervous that it is something else. I did start the Zoloft, so lets see how that goes. Thank you! :)

Thank you so much for your replies! It feels good to know that I am not the only one who feels like this on an every day basis. It is just very scary! Yes, I am in therapy & it is helping, but it seems like I just feel worse at this point... to live with all of these symptoms every day is so overwealming! Yes, I have also been to the Dr., about 50 times because I have become so paranoid that there really IS something wrong with me, so far I have had probably about $10,000 worth of medical testing & everything comes back fine. Red flags should go up because this goes back to my grandparents & all 4 of their children & some stuff on my moms side too. I am trying to remain positive though & I also do Yoga which is awesome & I treat with an Acupuncturist which, I don't know if that is even helping.. but it can't hurt!
