Hi,
I worked as an administrator to two different
midwifery practices for over seven years. You may
want to consider midwifery care, not just because
of the option of home birth, but due to the much
more personal, sensitive care they can provide.
Also, for your concerns regarding medication you
can go to the motherisk site of the Toronto Hospital
for Sick Children. This site provides the latest
research evidence on the safety of medication
while pregnant or nursing.

I have seven children, three of whom I gave birth to.
My oldest is 23 and my youngest is now 4. An
eight year gap won't cause too much trouble; in a
way, the older ones are more help than trying to
handle two little ones at the same time.
Good Luck!
