I TOTALLY agree that there's a link between milestones and cravings. The link is that when we smoked, we rewarded ourselves with smoking for EVERYTHING! Do the dishes, have a cigarette... work in the garden, have a cigarette... finish a big task, have a cigarette... etc... So now that we've quit, whenever we hit a BIG milestone (like 1 month, or 100 days) our brain still remembers that we used to reward it with a cigarette and starts "wanting" it and tells us that it wants it through cravings. BUT, the more milestones we go through smoke free, the less our brain wants that smoke as a reward. Another way to lessen the craving at big milestones is with rewards. If we reward ourselves in different ways, our brain doesn't crave the cigarette as much. Whatever the reason Phil, we all know that you're not going to cave... I know it's frustrating to have cravings this late in the game, but just keep doin what you've been doin and everything will be fine! Crave the Quit! I still think there is some relationship between milestones and renewed cravings..for some of us anyways....maybe birthday freaks? Hmmmmmmmmm. :quest: Don't remember tough cravings at 9 months, but that doesn't mean that it's not quit related, of course. I do remember them at 6 months and then REALLY bad at a year... almost ended my quit. But anyway, as you well know, they will pass soon. Just ride them out. Crave the Quit! It happens to me every couple of months - but ends quickly - it is like Nicotine is just hanging in the back waiting for a chance to get back into your life.
