John, Here are a few tips for you and other members who are having restless nights: �Try to get on a sleep schedule. Go to bed at a regular time each night and get up at a regular time in the morning. Try to not stay up late watching TV and try not to sleep during the day. If you get on a sleep schedule, we guarantee that you�ll begin to feel better. �Try to make the room you sleep in as quiet as possible. Consider ear plugs or a sleep mask. �Use your bed only for sleeping. Don�t lounge around in your bed. If you spend too much time lounging in bed, watching T.V., drinking coffee, or eating, your body will learn that your bed is NOT a place for sleeping. �If you can�t sleep after half an hour in bed don�t stay in bed trying to sleep. Get up and do some quiet activity. For example, read a book for a half hour and then try going back to bed. If you still can�t sleep, get up and do something quiet once again. �Try to keep your bedroom at a comfortable temperature - not too cold and not too hot. �Try to get some exercise every day. You�ll feel better and sleep will come much quicker. �Try not to exercise or work hard late in the evening. It could make you feel �wired�. �Don�t drink anything with caffeine or alcohol for 4 hours before you go to bed. �Try not to eat a heavy meal in the evening. Don�t eat just before you go to bed. �If you�re not sleeping at night, avoid naps during the day. �Use relaxation techniques. Deep breathing may help you relax at bed time. Hope this helps. Me too, feel very tired, thought going off the Chantix would help. It didn't even going to bed early. Think it made it worse. Wife told me I am not sleeping well due to apnea. I read that some anti-depressents can help with air flow. Chantix may fall into this category. So that with the combo of gaining weight = no sleep!! I feel like a walking zombie. Getting really bad now, starting to worry about my driving. I hope when I get going with the Aerobics and other excercise my weight will drop and my sleep will improve. Got an appt with my Doctor next week, will see what he says. I am on my first day not smoking. I have been on Chantix for two weeks. I am still on Chantix. Haven't slept one night all the way through. I wake up 10-15 times a night (thats a LOT). But I haven't been that tired during the day. (yet) So I am not too worried about it until I can't stay awake during the day. It's been over 4 week since I quit smoking and 3 weeks since I quit taking the Chantix. I quit taking the Chantix because it was interfering with my sleep so much. I would never get into deep sleep only REM and constantly wake up through out the night. I though when I quit taking the Chantix that this would stop. It hasn't. I quit drinking beverages with caffeine in them after 3pm. I've gone to bed early, gone to bed late, taken naps .. and not taken naps when I'm about to fall over from lack of sleep. In spite of all this it seems it's getting worse! The odd thing is about once a week, I'll sleep through the night. I can't live and work with interrupted sleep like this. Has anyone else had this happen who has taken Chantix then stopped taking it?
