I didn't take Chantix but I was VERY frustrated by sleep pattern changes right through until about week 4 or 5. I was so tired all the time and awake at night, etc. Now it seems to be evening out! So don't stress as that probably just makes it worse. It will go away. Meantime, I guess you can catch up on reading, drink some hot milk, potter, listen to soothing music...! Wow..congrats on sticking with it! I'm on day 12 and I can hardly believe it. I too am taking Chantix..I haven't noticed any side effects with the exception of some CRAZY dreams. I think that most side effects come from quitting and not from the script. But I'm certainly not a doctor. For the first couple days of quitting I felt constantly exhausted..but I'm actually starting to feel like I have more energy then I did when I smoked. And OMG! I can smell so many things (including stinky smoke...I'm so excited that I think that it smells!). Stick with it...its SO worth it! Handy, Congrats on almost FOUR Days! Your sleep will return. You can also try stretching or taking a warm bath before your bedtime to get you relaxed. Maybe some chill out music or a book? It is worth it and you are doing great. I am not able to stay in bed. I work, pick up the kids, mow the lawn, cook dinner, then when it is time for bed I can't sleep. It starts all over the next day! I am sure sleep will come soon :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/9/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 30 Amount Saved: $4.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 45 Seconds: 17

If I recall Day 1-3 is normal to be tired. I know I got a LOT of extra sleep. Cause ya know when your in bed you dont crave a smoke so I think on my day 2 I stayed in bed as late as I could. When I came off Chantix I had a slight craving for two days but really nothing much to be concerned over. I do remember that when I was on it I needed to be sure to take my second pill right after dinner 6:30 at the latest or I too would have trouble sleeping. The earlier the better (and less vivid dreams as well). BTW a little FYI: Out of the 7 co-workers here that started Chantix 3 months ago. Half of us are now finished with the pills and everyone is still a non-smoker. "knock on wood"! I am not sure what Chantix is. I am using the patch. Either way, I'm exhausted. Good luck to you and congrats on saving the 8 bucks! That's my favorite part! Had Enough, sorry you can't sleep. I am on Chantix and I do wake up during the night, but I did that with other quits using other products and when I went cold turkey. Sorry. But I looked at your age, could it be something else. I think my waking up has more to do with the stage I am in life, more than quit. Just a thought. When I worked I use to get up at 5:00 every morning. Now that I am retired I still try and go to bed at the same time, but can't sleep. So I wind up sleeping later than usual. I think my clock has changed, again :eg: Anyway just some thoughts.
