Thank God for this posts! I was ashamed to admit I've been crying like a baby! I posted on another thread about The 1st night of my quit I was running up n down the drive way chanting "I can do this" I didnt add that I was bawling the entire time. I cant say that anything in particular has caused the crying fits. I think its simply me wanting to smoke and knowing I cant. Like tears for an old friend (cigs) that Ive lost and wont ever see again. well, another crying day. It was soooo weird. When i woke up this morning, I swear that I was already crying! How can you wake up crying? Trying to think of ways to pass the time today. Also, been troubled by the smoking dreams. I woke up a few days ago with a sore throat and had to think and think to remember if I had smoked or not. The answer was NO. (Remember those chain smoking nights, then waking up with a bad sore throat?) I look forward to normalcy..whatever that is. I just know that I hate this addiction. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 216 Amount Saved: $45.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 7 Mins: 39 Seconds: 25

I hadn't cried since I was a little kid. Then I quit smoking and I was crying all the time. Freaked me out! I thought I was having a nervous breakdown or something! I'm not sure if it was repressed emotions or a chemical reaction but it's a little better now. Now only cry for joy that I'm a non-smoker. Haha. When the dog bites, when the bee stings... Yes... it happend to me once. It didn't this time. Well...take that back. I cried and was depressed for awhile. But that one quit a long time ago it was true hysteria crying. I wonder why each quit is different? Anyone know? You are normal! Yup, I have heard lots of members say they were teary especially the first few weeks. Tears and anger, yes sometimes one or the other or both! I do think it has something to do with repressed emotions, nicotine numbed us up pretty good. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 86 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,150 Amount Saved: $907.30 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 14 Mins: 26 Seconds: 13

That's a hilarious visual, Dee! Maybe we need a forum here called the cryers room. that is quit a mind picture, Dee. It made me laugh just invisioning the room full of quitting smokers crying. You know what, the days go by whether we smoke or not. We just need to let them go by as non smokers now. I think of past quits and say "gosh, if I would have stuck with it, I would be over a year free now. I would be free of all these feeling, emotions, etc". But, the same will be true months from now. We just need to stick with it, ride it out, be positive and thankful that we no longer poison ourselves with nicotine, and live our lives. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 96 Amount Saved: $20.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 5 Seconds: 13

I think crying is part of quitting. I'm not a cryer but seems like I made up for lost time yesterday (day 2). Everything made me cry so finally I just went in the bedroom, shut the door, looked at myself in the mirror and wondered what the hell I was crying so hard for. Then I just started crying harder. It's a weird feeling but we all know what the cause is. Withdrawal is not very easy. Stick with it and it will be over soon. If we were all in a room together crying, we might eventually start laughing at ourselves because we're adults crying over a stupid little white piece of paper with dried leaves in it. :gasp: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20 Amount Saved: $4.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 39 Seconds: 45
