Hi mylast,
Leon Russel was not what he used to be! Johnny winter was the headliner and they both looked soooooo old. They had to be lead on and off the stage..both long white hair, long white beards. Wow, it was kind of shocking..esp, the way Johnny Winter looked; skinny arms; sat in a chair the entire time. He was pretty feeble; but he can still jam on the guitar. i guess his new cd is nominated for a grammy. Anyway, it was fun.
How are you doing off the patch? I started the day with very good intentions, but went this afternoon and bought some 2mg gum. Only had one piece so far today. After this box of gum, I will try again. Or maybe before. I can not chew gum at work; only on breaks. the lozenges were giving me an upset stomach.
Do not lament too much about how smoking has affected your life. I know, I can do it about alot of things in my past...regrets, regrets; they are not fun. But, the past is past, right. We can not do anything about it now. I have made apologies where I believe they were really needed and am trying to move on. For instance, i absolutely know that one of the reasons why I would lose my patience with my children is because I was always in nicotine withdrawal. Some of the problem was depression. I should have seen a dr. about medication much sooner than I did. Depression makes everything "hard". Mom, will you take me to my friends? It was so hard, so far, so time consuming. I could have been much more peaceful if i had not smoked. but, the good news is, my kids think that I was a good mom. They do know that I was unhappy alot, but we can only do our best at the time. We have to let some of these things go. We are all human. And, compared to some people's lives, it has not been too bad. And, the great news is that we are getting free from nicotine now. We need to emphasize the positive at this point. Hope you are feeling good. Let me know how it has been without any patches! That is soooo great.
