why is my response always Crying?

for 17 år siden 0 989 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I sobbed my way through withdrawal. My keyboard was awash with tears. I slept and cried and slept and cried. When I wasn't doing that I ate or snapped at my husband. We should be embracing these symptoms as proof that we are getting the nicotine out of our systems. But that is certainly easier said than done. My advice? Buy stock in kleenex, wait it out, and know that thank goodness, it will pass. I cried the first night when I realized it was gonna be real. I cryed good. Mainly because I was so enraged that something had brought me to my knees like smoking. I felt like an idiot. But I eventually gained composure let bygones be bygones and kept going. 'Keep going' that's what I have to do. Thanks ladies,(i guess i am assuming that you are a lady, mylast;but I do know that you are a fellow mayflower) As soon as I saw your post Lainey, i went out and bought some B complex. I have only taken it for one day. i am so bad about taking my supplements. I am going to start taking them to work with me and take a few on every break. I do not know if it is a word aloha, but right now, i feel like my nationality IS emotionality. Maybe I am suffering from empty nest syndrome? I miss when my children were younger and i cry. Back when I was in the midst of householding with my 4 children, so many times I felt overwhelmed; it was so much work. Could be a case of "the grass is greener".I do remember longing for the day when i could just hop in the car and go to the grocery store, instead of hauling 3 kids with me. That time has come and I miss my past. (except for the smoking) Depression makes the simplest tasks seem like so much work. I probably should have been taking medication long before I finally did. I feel so stupid about this at times. I really do have so much to be thankful for. My children are all doing well. I have a good job. I am separated from my hubby, but we are still close friends. (he is a heavy smoker) I have a nice condo and am in good health. But, I can not deny how I feel. I appreciate your empathy. I am going to start taking the B complex faithfully. And, my last, if have anything interesting to share from your dr., I would love to hear about it; as I will share what my dr. says also. More tears. I did find an old post. i believe the name was "let them fall". It is about the cleansing power of tears and how a stress relieving hormone is involved with crying. i will find it again and let you all know. Thanks for the support. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 384 Amount Saved: $80.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 7 Mins: 6 Seconds: 28

Newme, Check with your Doc of course, but try Vitamin B complex. I read that it was very helpful for the short term depression that accompanies quitting smoking. (and its good for helping with the weiight as well) I tried it and am quite impressed. But check with your Doc to see if its compatible with the medication you're already on! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 98 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,450 Amount Saved: $1,033.90 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 0 Mins: 51 Seconds: 45

good idea newme sounds like maybe some brain chemistry issues have collided with the lack of nicotine. I think some extra emotionality (is that a word???) comes along with quitting for a lot of us, but you definitely should not have to suffer excessively. Thinking of you and am proud of how well you are doing...16 days! New me, Wish I had a magic wand to take all this sadness away from you. Look how good you are doing with your quit. Please cheer up and be proud of every minute you are not smoking. I am also going through some really sad periods and crying for stupid reasons or none at all. See your doc as soon as you can maybe he can get this straightened out. I haven't made an appt yet but I am going to have to. I am very proud of you that you haven't turned back to the cigs. It has happened again, guys, I woke up crying again. This is weird. I am going to call my Dr. today. I have been taking wellbutrin for 4 years. Maybe I need to change my medication. I tried another medication a few years back, and it was worse. i felt like nothing meant anything. I switched back to wellbutrin. I know that there is no happiness in a medication. Maybe it is normal to feel like this once in a while. Well, I need to get on with my day and try and shake this sadness. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 384 Amount Saved: $80.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 6 Mins: 52 Seconds: 27

SammiJo, Really laughing out loud here. What a great poster. Hey, I miss you! How is everything going? Especially healthwise? Are you still riding? And it must be warm enough for that pool now! -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,080 Amount Saved: $523.60 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 19 Mins: 41 Seconds: 43

Ohhhh, SammiJo, how cute, funny, TRUE! Well, the important thing is that we do not smoke, no matter how we feel. And yes, smoke free, I remember a previous quit where I was walking around the block, crawling out of my skin, crying. It was dark out and i was dark within. After two years, I have finally learned to be happy about not smoking, instead of gritting my teeth and waiting for myself to feel better. What a crazy journey. We are going to beat this addiction! new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 288 Amount Saved: $60.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 18 Seconds: 13

I made this graphic on January 29, 2007 - exactly 4 weeks into my quit... I posted it here because I'd had an all-day crying jag! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 157 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,710 Amount Saved: $471.00 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 4 Mins: 46 Seconds: 12
