well, It is strange to me. I am feeling sad, but I know the physical withdrawals of nicotine put a strain on the body and the mind. Gosh, I remember when I was a smoker. My good girlfriend had quit smoking for one month. I picked her up at the airport after a vacation. The first thing she did was bum a smoke from me. I said to her, "why are you smoking after not smoking for a whole month? If I hadn't smoked for a month, i would never smoke again!" I was so naive about what quitting nicotine is like. I thought you would quit and in a few weeks, it would be all be over. Boy, was I in for an education. Here's to the day that we no longer have craves, think about cigs, or even want to smoke "just one". Believe me, I will know it when it gets here. It's quit a journey. When I cry unhooked, I'll think of you and your great sense of humor!

I have not had that happen to me, but have read other post in the past where others cried a lot. Don't be so hard on yourself. I look at it as if your soul is being cleansed. Enjoy the cries. Embrace the tears as joy and freedom. Just remember to Keep the Quit.

Quitting smoking often releases a lot of emotions. Many of us have used cigarettes to stifle these feelings for years. Some people get over the top angry and other people get under the weather sad. Its different for different people. However, I would not say this is atypical, however, if you are feeling overcome you should seek a doctor's advice.

new me, I'm STILL going thru it. I cry at everything & sometimes at nothing. I was bawling my eyes out looking at greeting cards the other day, cried at my daughter's recital, cried at work, can't even hardly turn on the TV without sobbing over a commercial. I can't explain it, I've never been a cryer. I think it has something to do with all the emotion that smoking used to squash. The odd thig is I don't remember this happening in previous quits, I only remember getting cranky & angry & frustrated before. For myself, I'm not really worrying about it. I mentioned this in a previous post, but to me the important thing is what I'm NOT doing (smoking), not what I am doing & I'm sure the wimpinessis temorary.

I can't seem to get through one day without crying. I think of my kids being all grown up and I cry (my youngest is graduating high school this week). I think of mistakes that I have made in the past and I cry. I think of not smoking and I cry. I am so thrilled that I haven't smoked in 4 entire days, but I can't seem to quit crying. hell, I even cry during dog food commercials! (you know where you see the dog grow from a puppy to an adult dog). I am trying to keep busy, but every couple hours of so, I get tears in my eyes. Has anyone else gone through this?
