mjbsuns, After more than 3 months of not having any nicotine in you, you went to the store and bought gum to help you through the cravings?!?!?!?! Think about that for a second! Now, you're going to have to go through intensified cravings because you have now introduced nicotine BACK into your system after having it completely OUT of your system for 3 months! Not a good idea! Yes, using gum is better than smoking, but the thing is that it's still nicotine! You're still addicted and are still giving your body its addictive substance! The ONLY way to get through the cravings and get to a place of comfort without nicotine is to NOT put it back in your system! You've GOT to resist the cravings some other way! Chew regular gum, suck on hard candy or suckers, eat sunflower seeds, eat licorice, get a straw cut to the length of a cigarette and use that instead... do WHATEVER you can, but at this point in your quit, it's foolish to reintroduce nicotine back into your system! Crave the Quit! Yeah same here i'm day 106 into my quit and i've been getting some pretty intense cravings so far... and it sucks but i'm hanging in their. I also went to the store a few days ago and brought a pack of nic gum to help me get through the cravings. I did go off chantix like 3 weeks ago and it sucks that the cravings are now coming at me strong as ever but I will not cave in and neaither will you STAY STRONG AND KEEP GUM OR WHATEVER YOU NEED IN HANDS VIEW My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 106 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,590 Amount Saved: $1,060.00 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 4 Mins: 53 Seconds: 17

Kita, I still have a long way to go to get where you are but just hold strong. The crave can't kill you but smoking will! Your doing fantastic!! ~Valic My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $127.20 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 29 Seconds: 59

I agree with Keith... this is totally normal and will pass with time. So it feels like Hell Week? Then do whatever it was that you did during Hell Week to get through it! It obviously worked then, and it will work now too! Crave the Quit! Hi Kita, expect this to happen. It is a normal part of the quit process. Instead of worrying about it, recognise it as your body healing from those years of smoking. You are doign afantastic job, keep the faith. Kita Happened to me, too, a few days this week. Totally gone now. I have no idea what it was about...was waking up at 4 a.m., craving bigtime two mornings in a row...and now for the past day or so ...nothing. Hold strong, use your original coping strategies...they will pass...but you know that -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 56 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,240 Amount Saved: $380.80 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 21 Mins: 56 Seconds: 24

Hi Everyone, For the last day I have been being smacked with strong craves that just don't seem to want to leave. I think they are gone and then all of sudden I feel like I am being punched in the stomach. I will not smoke now have worked to hard don't want to cave now. Anyone else have this or is this just part of the journey?
