I have been on Paxil, not the CR, as that is mostly pharma companies way of making more money, once the patent is up and the generic form paroxetine can be purchased. The same is happening with Xanax XR too. This way the time released new medicines can only be purchased by brand and not generic.
Paxil does come in 10mg doses (the lowest), it might be best to get this for a couple of weeks taking 1 1/2 pills equaling a total of 15mgs. Slight increase for you without too much side effect, then the week after two pills equaling 20 mgs. Once your adjusted to that if your dr. feels 25mgs total is needed then you can go on up by using the Paxil CR 25mg. I also needed the extra xanax on my start up on medication as it made me more anxious.
