LOADS of patience...and a darn good cry!!!!!

Gonna, Cleansing tears are a wonderful thing. I feel much better for them. Phillip, Thank you for that post. Patience. I'm truly understanding it now. If we aren't patient with ourselves, we don't stand much of a chance. Like you, I don't respond well to the demands of others, let alone the demands I make on myself. I don't respond well to them either. I need to treat myself with care and respect. Being patient with myself is a good start. You guys always make me feel good! Cleansing tears. I notice that since I have quit, that I have lots of 'cleansing tears'. Most often I go off by myself and have a good cry and say all the things I don't dare say to the people that pi$$ me off the most---which, by the way, are the same people I love the most  My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 205 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,288 Amount Saved: $1640 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 18 Mins: 55 Seconds: 28

I definitely do feel better today. It felt good to let it out. More and more I'm learning and believing that bad days are only TEMPORARY! I think that's nice to know. Jan, Sometimes, it's good to let it all out. So happy to see you getting comfortable in your quit, despite those tears. Keep persevering and congrats on 77 days! Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Jan - You are doing such an amazing job. I remember one post where someone said "just be". Don't try to be anything just be what you are and ride it through....I don't know why, but it helped...I stopped expecting miracles and enjoyed the progress as it came. There's nothing better than a good cry....I bet you DO feel better! 77 days in I'm definitely feeling a lot better than I did in the beginning of my quit. Today was one of those days where I'm REALLY beginning to apply my new found patience. I'm coming to an understanding of what patience really is. By the time the afternoon came around I couldn't hold the tears back. The floodgates opened I was listing to hubby all the things that were bothering me. Most of them were small things, but still to me, they were HUGE. I feel better now, more relaxed. Until perhaps the next time it happens. And the patience? Oh yeah. I'm understanding that my moods are all part of the quit process and I'm learning to accept them. The good moods as well as the bad. One day at a time...this journey gets better. The good times are starting to outweigh the frustrating, miserable times. We CAN all do this when we stick together. One goal. One WONDERFUL group of quitters!
