In 1996 I had major surgery. I woke up with a racing heart. I have had so many cardiac workups that it is getting rediculous. They have found benign PAC's in the past. All doctors and specialists tell me I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress, and Panic Disorder. This last week has topped it all off. I was barraged with this fluttering in my chest all day long and after each flutter my heart would race like 115 BPM. After going through this for a whole day, I felt flushed face, nauseated, wobbly legged, tight feeling in the chest with pain, shaky all over and my feet were so cold, and I couldn't stop going to the bathroom. I went to the hospital by ambulance at 11:00 at night. They found some PVC's on the strip in the ambulance, but not at the hospital. They told me that I was basically, well...anxious. I must admit that things in my life have taken many changes. Often, in the past, the symptoms that aren't heart related aren't there, they happen only after I have the palpitations. Has anyone here had just heart symptoms to start with and then develop all the other uncomfortable stuff...and even have it show up on strips, but then told you get these because of anxiety or panic? I have had blood tests, stress tests, EKG's, echo cardiograms, the only test I haven't had done is a heart catherization. I was put on Calan SR by my PCP a few days ago and now I am able to funtion in life somewhat. I feel so alone and so afraid.TextText
