Is it just me?

I don't think having "someone do everything for you" is the cause for anxiety disorder. Some people just have it. In my case, it was explained as a chemical imbalance, and the seratonin in my brain doesn't interact correctly. Maybe it's the same in your case. If so, antidepressants help, but they don't completely remove the anxiety. If you start taking them, don't skip. You need to keep it level. I'm wondering if my skipping my Prozac for awhile is partly to blame for my bad panic episode last week (still continuing, but not as badly).

Me too... :) When I'm having panic attacks, I HATE being alone. Not only because I want someone there to take me to the hospital, but because I feel like other people, if they're friendly, can help ward off the panic a little. Being around loved ones doesn't totally destroy the panic, but it does remind you that some people care and will look out for you.

Hi Donna! Nope, I do it too. I also do the "is it just me or is it hot/cold/stuffy in here?" thing, and get very excited when someone else says they feel the same way. And I do it for the same reasons you do to - in case someone has to tell the doctor what happened to me. Funny, isn't it? I also think that sometimes I do it for attention, since I live alone and I have my own office at work, and don't really talk to people too terribly much...it kind of makes me feel secure. Thanks for bringing up the topic!

Is it just me or do we all do it?? When I'm feeling anxious or have some symptoms for eg. headache, chest pains, nausea that I often find myself mentioning to family, friends, work colleagues or perhaps whomever is near incase "something" should happen. I actually sit there and think "hmmm I might just tell Mick(husband) about my headache incase I have a brain tumour or I pass out so then when I'm at the hospital he will be able to tell them whats wrong" Does anyone else do this either consciously or not?
