I am disappointed that my discussion has been removed. I asked whether anyone had any success with a particular book and author, and this topic has now been removed. I thought the idea of this site was to help others, and if a book has been useful, why can we not share this information with others who may benefit from it also!
Please can you explain the reason why this has been removed???
Anne-Marie,
Upon reflection and reading some of my past posts I feel I may have unknowingly violated the user agreement in several cases when recommending sites for music and nature sound CD's. I assure you that was not my intention. If it is necessary, please feel free to delete any links I provided.
I have no affiliation with anyone, including myself on some days! :)
Mike

We do realize people like to buddy up and help each other out, and that's terrific. There's another side of the coin too though, the side of the vulnerable, and I receive letters from them. There are also an amazing number of people who join our sites that are new to the Internet and erroneously think that if they write inside the umbrella of a support group, their address won't be picked up by spammers.
Mike is correct. The number of promoters is awesome.
I dont think Anne-Marie has a problem with us recommending books and tapes that we use ourselves or have had a positive experience with. I believe the problem is (as it is on every discussion group no matter the subject) that company representatives join groups like this and constantly recommend their products, sometimes complete with a link and prices.
These people are seldom alturistic in their efforts and seek out discussion groups specic to their products target market. You can usually spot them because they will recommend a specific product in every post and they only post when there is an opportunity to promote their product.
I belong to several discussion groups about a variety of subject matters, the "shills" are an issue on all of them. It is not unique to this type of site.
Anne-Marie, If I have mis-represented your wishes please correct me.
Anne-Marie,
I just wanted to reply to you. I love the panic diary, I use it every day, I just started the panic program.
I think you have to realize, when new people come here, we don't know anything and are at our last hope to find someone who can give us advice. I don't see the big deal with saying go buy this tape or book. We all will still come here whether we have them or not.
I thought you would like to know something else, I belong to 4 sites just like this one, and I recommend this one the most. People like me who enjoy coming here and chatting, have to refer other people to other things. It is our nature to try and help each other.
I asked you a question about 1 week ago and never received an answer, so I asked someone in here, and she helped me with it. I couldn't get the panic program to work.
If you don't want anyone sharing information, what will you do when people start to leave and find other places who let us chat openly?
Please be careful about putting your email address in your posts for all to see.
There are lots of people who want to sell you stuff or sell your email address to spam lists, and an easy way for them is to get your email address off our support group posts.
Besides spam mailbots that comb the Web, (including this support site) for addresses, there will be those who post in the group in a clever way in order to promote their products.
We thus have to put our foot down every so often and ask the group to keep on track. Our site was created to support the people who use our Panic Program, and though we acknowledge there are great tapes and books out there, enough has been written about them. If you do a Web search you can find lots of them.
The User Agreement prohibits advertising or promoting products or sites in the group. We ask that you abide by the User Agreement. Lately there have been those who seem to want to use our site for promotion of their products. To those people, cease and desist. Do not abuse your posting privileges or disrespect our members or us in that way.
