spaced out

for 18 år siden 0 8 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Dear Taylor, Not a doctor, but that spaced out feeling is being overwhelmed. This is a huge shock to your system and your body is working hard. Slow it all down and think of it in terms of getting through the next few hours What people here say in here is true. I had to ask what day it was for a while. And pin numbers, forget it. I have so many pin numbers, I cant remember them on ciggs let alone off. Just nurture yourself. You are doing great. Cranky

I pulled into work today, Day Two, and just got out of the vehicle, didn't close the door or anything, I just jumped out and ran inside! Why? Because my car has an ashtray and... well, you know! My car is a TRIGGER! So, a part of me was doing the addicted thinking thing and the other part of me was saying... get inside fast before you do something stupid. Neither part of me was concerned with such mundane things as closing a car door! LOL!!! Talk about being pre-occupied! Hi everyone. I have been 3 days without smoking and without nicotine. I am having real trouble with feeling spaced out. Any helpful hints from those of you who have dealt with this side-effect? It's really getting bothersome. I could not remember my ATM password yesterday. I cannot remember what I have read. Thank you all for your help and support. This site is a godsend. I know this well. I made sure I told my supervisor that I was quitting smoking so that when I completely lost all intelligence for a minute he would understand. He would just smile and shake his head at me and/or chuckle. Be patient with yourself. The intelligence and pin numbers to come back to you. This is a good sign, you are a normal quitter. Be thankful for the spaced out feeling, it is taking the edge of the quit, lol.. I also experienced this side effect, for about the first week and a half; almost like you are existing in a dream world and nothing is really happening! I just drank copious amountd of green mint tea and chewed 3 packs of gum a day. Dont worry too much, I dont think what you are experiencing is too out of the ordinary. Hang on Taylor726, I promise it will get better! Congratulations on 3 whole days, every second that passes brings you closer to freedom. We are here for you!! It's part of it, in the beginning of my quit, I met a neighbor whom had just quit smoking. We did not know each other well, I would see her in car pool line, she came into my work alot, and we lived a couple blocks from one another. We would always compare stories about the dumb things we did that day. It will pass.... Oh the joys of quitting!! I was spacey before I quit so I had to really pay attention (yeah right) during the first month for me. Every quit is different so can't go by any specific time line for when the spacies go away. Just be extremely careful at work and when driving. You can do it Taylor. Take care and hugs to get you through Kim My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 175 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,383 Amount Saved: $708.75 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 10 Mins: 54 Seconds: 22
