Well now, I could have flown to the moon on my first week of quitting - I was out there big time!!!
It does pass but I think you just need to relax with it and go through it - your body needs to do it work and clear out all the junk from the cigarettes. I remember that drinking water helped.
Don't overcommitt yourself this week - leave some space to feel spaced and don't create pressures with too many 'to dos' if you see what I mean.
Above all remember that it is temporary - it will pass in a couple of days.

You are doing so very well with your quit. Feeling spaced out can be annoying but it soon passes. Don't worry you brain will start functioning properly again soon. In the meantime just go with it.

Ah yes - the "away with fairies" syndrome! Sit back and enjoy! You just have to tough it out and see it through but it will get progressively better and it is worth the trouble after all the years of smoking. The body is cleansing itself and you are starting to operate with more oxygen in your brain - lovely! You will be all the better for it!

Hi Taylor,
Feeling spaced out may be a side effect of quitting smoking. Are you having trouble sleeping? Your body is running a marathon by trying to understand the withdrawals it is having from quitting smoking. If this "spacey" feeling persists, do not be afraid to check in with your health care professional. Remember, a successful quit is a safe quit.
