In a few weeks...you will look back on that and giggle...life really does have a sense of humor, we just have to "get it!". So glad you made it through! Keep us posted on how your doing. Kaitilina and all, Thanks for your response. I still want a cigarette but the crisis is past. The rest of the night was spent in wake/sleep. We got to the airport at 6:10 for the 6:55 flight. Lines out the doorway. Faced with the choice of either standing in line to check in luggage and miss flight or ditch luggage and keep flight we in a split second chose the latter (sp). I was all for leaving the luggage, consisting of clothes and presents, on the turnstyle and collecting it as unclaimed baggage on the return. My husband showed a little more sense and ran it to the car-which was far away. We ran down the airport and made the flight with no presents and the clothes on our backs. About 30 people missed that flight, which was fully booked. Like my husband pointed out, if we had missed that flight, there would not have been a subsequent flight with available seats for the entire weekend. Kaitilina, I laughed right through it, though my husband didn't. I love this stuff. Sometimes I think that reflection, stopping smoking included, is not so good b/c we are open to see areas which are outside our coping mechanisms on which we want to spend more time. Thanks for your support and by the way - may I say that your meter is impressive! Checking in. It means a lot to hear from all of you. The only thing missing at my house tonight was the pea soup. Tomorrow is another day and I'll be ready for it. Thanks a lot to you all. Really. Good night. I Vaaaaaant a cigarette. I'm running around tonight with the normal nighttime routine and packing for a 5:00 am flight (leave house at 5:00, get to airport for 6:00, leave at 6:55 am) and making sure everything is ready for christmas here and there. I could find plenty of good points for a nice cigarette break. I'm not gonna do it. But, some support right now would help cushion my crave. Thanking you in advance in my time of need. I'll check back in a little while when I would otherwise enjoy a cigarette. Clear -- Probably too late on the response for you == sorry -- but the big deal is all about enjoying the smoke-free flight and dealing with the arrival airport stuff without having to find the nearest exist for a cigarette (so you can smell up your host's car!). Breathe past the urge to see the longer-term pay off. I hear you loud and clear! BUT, just think how you would smell, getting on that plane, stuck with the stench of yourself for who knows how long!!!! You have come too far, 32 days, to look back now! Vaaaanting a cigarette is just that ole junkie thinking, toss it aside! It's no longer part of your smoke free life. Stay strong and life will be good! Enjoy your trip and stop vaaanting! I had the same problem Thanksgiving weekend. We were travelin also, packing, getting ready, cleaning up before we leave, who wants to come home to a messy house.I just kept vaaaaaantin a smoke, I had never traveled as a non-smoker before. I would stock up on your mints, gum, dum-dum's...whatever got you through the first couple weeks. Stay strong, you have come to far. Hi Clear Hope all is well today - Just think...no more trying to figure out where you can smoke at airports and no more craving on those long flights. Happy a happy smoke-free Christmas!
