This morning...

I woke up this morning (well, Sunday morning) and my throat felt like I'd smoked 2 packs in my sleep. Ugh. I'm thinking it's probably because my nose is still so stuffed up, I ended up breathing entirely through my mouth. I'm getting very tired of being so stuffed up, and the inside of my left nostril hurts like someone peeled the skin out of it. My mom called today and asked me to come over and wax her eyebrows. Normally I would smoke on the way to her house, and then again on the way back, because there is no smoking at her house. Being around her always stresses me out. She's one of the "always right, never wrong, even black and white proof doesn't mean she's wrong" type people. I remembered to bring my gum, and didn't have a craving...and I got to torture her and one of my sisters at their own insistence. Eyebrow waxing, Huzzah! The fun is yet to come...Thanksgiving with my entire family. Hi Treyya I got a sinus infection a few days ago. I know just how you feel. I have been cough, cough, cough as well. Does everyone have a bad chest or cold like symptoms when giving up? I read somewhere that it's reccommended that you take vitamin C tablets when you quit. I didn't.. wishing I had. :) I hope you feel better soon, Treyya! :) Remember if you can get through this when you do feel better it won't be as bad. Good luck. :)

Treyya Smiles on the eyebrow waxing - that made me laugh. Congrats on Day 8 - you are doing this girl!!! Remember to be gentle on yourself. Surround yourself with those who support you. If thanksgiving is to be a challenge with your family remember to take regular breaks - instead of a cigarette break have a fresh air break - go for a walk around the block. Keep going - you are doing just great and that sense of humour will see you though so much. Good treyya; you overcame a major trigger. We may experience cravings and bothersome thoughts of smoking, but we just have to put one foot in front of the other and keep living our lives. Driving to your mom;s without smoking is part of your life. You just did it without nicotine! You are through hell week. Congratulations on being free from nicotine for 8 whole days...wonderful. Keep up the good fight; hang tough. You can do this and you will be soooo glad that you did. Treyya, Start to prepare yourself and you will fair well. You have accomplished 8 days and this is commendable! Remove yourself from the situation if it is tempting and have coping mechanisms on hand. Try and enjoy yourself and really get into the spirit :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
