feeling good after stopping lexapro

Have they given you anything specifically for the anxiety? I take Lexapro as well, 10 mg a day and am moving up to 15 mg a day starting today. I take Xanax Extended Release as well and find that the combination of the two is very effective. You may want to inquire about this. You may also want to consider seeing a phychiatrist - I've found mine to be much more helpful than my regular doctor, as they deal with panic/anxiety so much more. They may also be able to get you some help with therapy and meditation, both of which I have found help me a great deal! Good luck and let me know you how you are doing. I'm rootin' for ya'!

I feel all right, but i saw my doctor today... actually a "nurse practitioner" and she said to keep taking the medicine. I wanted to switch to prozac, but she apparently would not let me. She said to maybe reduce to 5 mg or more ( I was on 10) and to continue taking it, as I am supposed to be on it for 8 months. Oh well.. I guess ill keep taking it, but perhaps bite them in half every other day. Thanks. Ben

The first thing we should all learn to do is not to "what if" anything. We shouldn't try to project the future, but take it one day at a time. I'm sure we're all guilty of futurizing with "what if's" and the hardest thing for us to do is not do it. Have you discussed with your Dr. about going off the medicine and what to expect? You may want to look into that. How are you doing today? Cecilia

Ok. I have been on lexapro 10 mg for about 1.5 months and was getting horrible anxiety in the mornings. I have had panic disorder for 3 months now. Quite simply, I have stopped lexapro. It has been 2 days, and I am feeling better than i have in 3 months. My energy has come back a lot. I have less fatigue. I dont wake up with anxiety anymore. I feel lifted and not so depressed. I feel more comfortable with myself and everything. I have felt more peace now than i have after having my first panic attack 3 months ago. Has anyone else had this happen? Am i speaking too soon? Will the withdraw hit me soon or something? regards, Ben
