Good Post Stickin To It I've been having all of those kind of blah days too...just don't feel like doing anything...but am determined to protect my quit. you see...I know the craves will pass eventually as long as I don't cave and smoke..I know I am a new person...just don't know exactly who yet...but am going to find out. I also know that exercise will take my mind away or at least give it better food to work with in thinking about my good health reasons for quitting and remaining a Non-smoker! We recieved about 5 inches of snow Tuesday night, just moving back to Ohio in May...(from Florida)...it was like waking up on Christmas morning in my childhood...I was soooo excited. I actually got up on Wednesday...very excited about the idea of shoveling snow (first time in about 12 years. Now why on earth would I be excited about a back-breaking job like shoveling snow????? Because...I got the opportunity to start testing my lung capacity, the chance to think clearly about those reasons why I want to be a Non-smoker,creating sore muscles from the lack of exercise that my body desparately needs, and help me start creating a plan for more exercise to change my life. (My old person as a smoker no longer exists). just wanted to throw that in... auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,921 Amount Saved: $180.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 6 Mins: 53 Seconds: 10

Oh those Down Days - They will Pass There will be those down days when we do not seem to know what to do with ourselves. This is the in-between, state, in-between the terrible two's and "Oh, yes I did use to smoke, didn't I". The in-between state say to me, you are done smoking however smoking can come to mind more often than we might expect. Oh the in-between state, kind of like being in limbo. You have exercise good coping skills and attitude to get to this point and it always help to recite your reasons for quitting. The longer you stay quit the easier it does get you know. Smoking gave us something to do with our hands, mouth and mind. You really do lose and forget the smoking mannerism with time. In fact time is our healer and to make it easier for you, find a way to use your time productively. Do things that makes you feel good about yourself. Accomplish things be it as small as taking a walk around the block, painting a room in the house, or getting into a full blown exercise routine. So, so many things to choose from, find the things that fit you. We know what the key is, "smoking is not part of your vocabulary or thoughts anymore". It does not exist for you anymore. Others might smoke, but it is not part of your world. Condition and tune your mind; we all have this ability. Count your lucky stars that you have done this for yourself. Looking forward, watching you grow, extending your lives, and making those that love you happy and proud. Sticking to it, Thank you for posting such wonderful insight! It is always great to hear from members further along in their quit that share the knowledge and support we all seek. There is positive and negative to all quits, time will heal all :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team. P.S (Check your e-mail)
