hi all, this is day 9 for me and i have to say this is the worst day so far, i went out with my husband to the pub last night and managed to sit there for 4 hours without smoking when everyone around me were smokers, i wonder if the passive smoking as meant that i have took in nicotine and so my body as started craving at the same level all over again just as it did the day after i stopped, :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 283 Amount Saved: 22.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 13 Seconds: 31

I recommend centering. Get back into your quit. I don't think I would have been strong enough to do the pub thing at 8 days. You hero'ed through, with what consequence? Get back into your quit groove. You are really doing great, no need to taunt it. Keep it steady. Hi Kerry, my advice would be to go and do something physical as soon as you can. Clean cupboards, or the loft or the oven! Anything that keeps you active without having to think too much. I recently spent a spell working in a cafe as I was quitting. the days I was working there I didn't have TIME to crave, or if I did, it enetered my mind briefly then I had to get on doing what I was doing. I've come to the conclsuion it isn't the craving that's the problem, it's how much time we have to dwell on them because really, if you breathe through them, the craving has gone in about 3 minutes max. Hang in there. Hello Kerrylou ` I'm glad you came here and shared this. You may have taken in quite a bit of second hand. THAT's No Good! I don't know how you were able to sit there for 4 hours being so new to your quit, but everyone handles things differently. Right now it's important to be gentle with yourself and take extra care to change your lifestyle to that of a non-smoker, which meant for me, staying away from smokers, finding new things to do with my hands and taking walks at break time. You're very new to this quitting thing and your body has a lot to handle right now. Remind yourself why you quit and start a journal of how you feel, what you are doing for exercise, your plans to live your new life as a healthy non-smoker. Have you worked the tools on your left <------ ??? do it! DEEP BREATHING will also help if you need to get through a rough spot.
